Actually in the text there is something new:

"Van Halen never really broke up, but the Van Halen brothers have made things very uncomfortable for their lead singers, starting with David Lee Roth. Bassist Michael Anthony has also been tossed from the band."

Because of VH's recent actions, the band's history has been rewritten so that now the blame lays squarely on EVH and AVH for the internal turmoil. VH's history is now interpreted differently, so the firing of Michael Anthony has actually cast an entirely new light on the past.

No kiddin. I remember when Dave was the "bad guy". I truly drank the kool-aid back then.

Indeed....and they're also spinning other band's stories in rather inaccurate ways. Floyd did NOT break-up "for good" until after "The Division Bell" in '94.

And it mentions the original GNR leaving Axl in '94...wrong...didn't the original GNR include Tracii Guns and Steven Adler?

1985, what a banner fucking year that was....was separated from the girl I thought I would marry a few years down the road at the hands of her family and then I find out that the band that created the soundtrack for my life up until that point was no longer going to have Roth in it.

VH definitely should have been top of the list considering their enourmous stature in the mid 80's.

I was 100% in line with what ed and al were saying from 85-95 as far as dave was concerned, I just thought it was his massive ego that got him to leave the band. Once the VH bros threw the EXACT same spin on the Sammy split in 96 I started to rethink things, then everything that has happened since then has pretty much convinced me that it wasn't all Dave's fault like I thought for along time. EVH and AVH like to play the revisionist history game alot to make people look bad but it seems that now history is showing that they are just a giant pain in the ass to deal with and have done a pretty good job of destroying everything that made VH great from 78-96.
I DO NOT think anything in terms of new music will come out of these guys....EVER cause of the dynamics that ed and al have created within the band. maybe I'm wrong but if dave's gonna come back and record with them let dave be dave and I think he's gonna be on a short leash so we'll get "dave-lite" at best.

Awesome! I was always wanting a Brett Michaels or maybe even a Jani Lane fronted Van Halen!!
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    Preferred pronouns: he/him/his

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

DONATE TO THE LINKS YA CHEAP BASTARDS!!!!

Yeah, I can hear them playing "Unskinny Bop" or "Down Boys" after opening with "Unchained"!
