    Default Would you rather...?

    Which would you rather have:

    1. A new album with all new music but no tour...?
    2. Another tour but no new music?

At this point, I'd go for the album... but what do y'all think?

#1. Let's see if they can still create, otherwise it's just a nostalgia act. However, realistically, what's the point of putting out new music if you're not going to tour and anyway, from a business standpoint, they won't make any money if they don't tour. Unfortunately, that's the state of the biz these days.

After what Eddie said the new music he is creating is like, i dont know. He said its not exactly headbanging stuff or something to that effect. That makes me wonder if i even want new music now. Its got me skeered.

Quite true. There is no money to be made from releasing new music because it will just end up on the internet and everyone will get to download it free. So if I was a betting man, I would say we aren't getting any new music. VH only does shit now for money, big money, so I would bet on another tour with only a slightly changed set list and probably a new stage design. These guys can talk about the fans all they want. The truth is they haven't done a single thing to acknowledge their long-time fans who have stuck with them through all the bullshit.

I would rather have new music, but I ain't exactly hopeful.

VH probably won't get another dime from me if they don't put out any new music.

For me, new music ALWAYS trumps a tour.....and that goes for ANY band, not just VH.

Personally, it's going on a few years now since I've bought a VH CD that contained Jump, so I'm hoping for a Greatest Hits/Live/Best Of/In Concert type thing followed by a tour.

I second and third the motion, much to my disappointment. At least KISS, the kings of $$, are making a new cd--that by all reviews are damn good. The last time VH made an album was um...2 presidents ago?

I think any fan who doesn't live in or near the U.S. or Canada, is not going to get anything from the band anymore unless you are willing to pay $$$ to travel and hope to get Ed on a good night (although the second half of the 07/08 tour he was consistent). The best we could hope for is to download a bootleg of a show off Jam To This.

For whatever reason, Dave didn't want the live DVD released last year. Hopefully they might record and release a concert from the 2010 tour. And with any luck, Dave might have a bit more leash to play with...

In my eyes, a new album is a very remote possibility. Ed is probably still stinging a little bit from the 3 backlash and he may not have that fire in the belly anymore. Even if the band released a really good album of new material, it still won't sell 2 million in the U.S. But Chickenfoot have shown that with a strong album, good promotion and a cheap price you can still move a few units.

To be realistic though, new album with no tour isn't even really an option.

The money is in touring, if the put out an album they will tour to support it.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.
