    "Slash
A remarkably precise player who had to put up with more crap from his lead singers than any other guitarist on this list. Does he make the cut partially because of the hat? Yes. Yes he does."

    Yeah.....great criteria for a Top 10 list.

What's GREAT is that they included 11 players in a Top 10. Good job TIME.

Prince? PRINCE, but no EVH? Prince is good at what he does, but he is not better than the likes of EVH or Randy Rhoads. That may be the worst top guitarist list ever.

Ok. I'll say it. Yngwie and Johnny Ramone yes but no EVH? If Yngwie is on this list, EVH should be on and higher. I love the Ramone's dearly but not in a million years would I rate Johnny in the top 10 of any guitarist list regardless of the criteria.

I like how they described Yngwie's playing as "sounds so fast it's unplayable". Yet they included him?

Not sure what their criteria is, but Slash doesn't belong on there.

To me, all are deserving of at least being in the conversation except for Slash, Yngwie and Keith.

    Just a couple random thoughts.

    Slash is precise, since when?

Yngwie is impressive, but does anyone really like listening to him play? I have yet to meet a guitar player who list Yngwie as a favorite or an influence.

Keith has the hits of course, but have the Stones written anything classic since Mick Taylor left the band? If yes, then it is no way the same sheer amount of classic material written while Taylor was in the band.

I from now on have two criteria for rock guitarist lists: if either Eddie or Chet Atkins are not on it, the person didn't do any amount of research on the subject.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

A man's rights rests in three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

somebody with a degree in pop culture (someone who thinks they're cool) put this list together. picture a collared shirt, cardigan sweater, distressed jeans, messy hair and a Starschmucks coffee cup. As for Yngwie, somebody probably told him to put him in there.

Either that or the list was drawn from a hat with a "Hendrix Must Be First" clause.

when it all comes to an end, roaches will still be fighting about stupid any given magazine's top ten list of guitarists were.

I'm actually surprised that richards, BB and Berry made the list. they almost never do.

Yngwie surprises the hell out of me. I can't believe he's even on the radar of a magazine like Time.

Slash is popular and gets mad points for that.

Prince, though not top ten, is a freaking monster musician, not just guitar player and he certainly belongs in the discussion.
    Stay out of it, dude.

Johnny Ramone, the Ramones as a whole, are more important and influential than many RAWK! fans want to admit or concede. I wouldn't put Johnny in any top ten list of "greatest" of all time but he and they would certainly be amongst the top if I were talking about "most influential" or "most important to the music that came afterwards" or "most iconic."
    Stay out of it, dude.
