Hey guys, i havent posted in a longgg time, but i was reading some rumors over at vhnd and came across the post by matt gerst. and some of the stuff he said seems to coincide with what we know now. first he mentions how from july to august, the guys just jammed, and came across with 6 tracks. that sounds like what both dave said, except for the number of tracks, although dweezil said it was six. he also stated that we wouldnt hear the album till at least august, and many feel that roth is just warming up for a fall reunion. i just wanted to pass this on, and see what you guys think.heres the link in case you wanted to read it over.http://www.vhnd.com/articles/010131-01.shtml

    From what Dave has said, the details in that are all wrong.

    This quote alone makes me highly suspicious of that information;

quote:
Van Halen first contacted David Lee Roth through his management company and tried to set up a meeting with him regarding the option of rejoining Van Halen. At first he politely declined saying he had his own tour to do.

Dave declined? No way I'm buying that. If Dave gets offered the VH spot at his own funeral he'll find a way to get to 5150.

    Glenn - i dont know about that, because who is to say roth didnt get tired of the van halen soap opera. i can honestly see roth saying no if he thought the guys were going to act like they did in 96.

    How much drama did there really appear to be in VH to Dave? So '96 didn't work out after a few months, and they got rid of the guy a couple years later when everyone realized it was a mistake. There hadn't exactly been much of a soap-opera from Dave's perspective at the time.

    Glenn and MikeL - both true. despite all that happened in 96 , maybe dave was just happy to be in the spotlight again, even if it went down like that. although i am sure he would have wanted to have been in permantly.
