Favorite Eddie Guitar Solo in a Song

Yesterday, I was in a 7-11 and "I'll Wait" was on the radio. When the solo started, I just stopped and listened. I was reminded how great that solo is: very concise and well-crafted.

The question is: what is your favorite EVH guitar solo in a song and why?

One Foot Out The Door...it sounds like everything could catch on fire at any moment. Very intense.

Me Wise Magic has to be one of the best. It's just so fast right before it ends and goes back to the lyrics.

Studio: Ice Cream Man or Mean Street
    Live : 5150 from LWAN

Ice Cream Man is sonic and brilliant, Mean Street is angry and intense, 5150 is a journey and precise.

This is impossible. So many great ones. He was really a creative beast with his solos with CVH. I agree with One foot Out and Push...two of my favorites. The whole Vibe on FW is amazing. Eruption obviously is out of control. Too many to pick a fav. Just chiming in. This thread has must have been done b4 no? Where are the self appointed hallway monitors, on break? lol

Can't even begin to pick, or remember all the great ones.

Im gonna say the solo to "Secrets" and the solo to "When it's love".

    Both mellow but rockin!

    WOW!!!!!!!!

I was just listening to "secrets" while posting this and "Where have all the good times gone" came on right after.

Had forgotten that the intro to WHATGTG is the end to "secrets" backwards.

    What a trip!

Did you know that the jump solo was two solos spliced together?

what is your favorite EVH guitar solo in a song and why?
    I have several favorites:
    1. "Beat It" - for me, it kind of encapsulates the "gunslinger" aspect of Eddie's playing.
    2. "Ice Cream Man" - a more melodic gunslinging solo. It's so friggin' fun!
    3. "Cabo Wabo" - big and bad ass. With that groove behind it, this solo's got lots of swagger.
    4. "I'll Wait" - tasty. Very tasty.

    I'm stoppin' right there.

Girl Gone Bad, and it's not even just the main solo....Ed was just really, really laying it down throughout that song, and he was so on top of his game at that point.

Everything that is amazing about Ed's playing is found at some point, whether it is his rhythm playing, harmonics, the crazy filler runs, you name it.

Girl Gone Bad and House of Pain, IMO, represent some of Ed's most amazing work ever.

I'm gonna change gears here for a minute.
-Year to the day is one of my favorite solos because of the tone.
-As odd as it sounds, Love walks in because not only do I think it is one of the most beautiful songs ever written but the solo has alot of feeling to it.
-Don't tell me what love can do- the whole damn song is just raw as hell, throw Seventh seal in there too.

    too many to list.
