Default HSAS's progressive masterpiece: Animation/Valley of the Kinds/Giza

I'm quite surprised not to see any love around these parts for what I consider maybe one of the the top 3 pieces of music Sammy ever sang on. This was on the HSAS album and is probably the only progressive rock song Sam ever sang on. His singing, Schon's guitar work with very memorable lines, Shrieve's drumming - it's all there. Great lyrics as well, you're really walking along the Pyramids with Sam.

Part 1: Animation (from the MTV broadcast):

Part 2: Valley of the Kinds/Giza (unfortunately couldnt find the live version, this is from the studio version):

(sorry for the mistake on the title of the thread, it's "Valley of the Kings")

I love those songs. HSAS was pretty good back in the day and their music has held up well.

Anyone ever noticed that HSAS also spells out Hagar, Smith, Anthony, and Satriani? Coincidence or conspiracy?

the part in Animation when sam sings "time to find my golden ring" or whatever the line is actually sent shivers down my spine the first few times I heard it.

Sammy Hagar can sing his ass off I don't care what anyone says....In For the Kill from the HSAS concerts and Ever Since You Came are incredible songs.

Yes Sammy does have a great voice. I love his stuff. I have to find another copy of Into the Fire though. Mine got a little scratched.

go over to guitars101 and find the whole show, alot of the stuff left off the CD is better than the stuff that actually made it.

It irritates me to no end that there are a lot of people who have never heard HSAS.

I concluded a long time ago that how GOOD the music is has NOTHING to do with what music record companies, radio, MTV, etc. choose to promote.

A lot of the best music ever recorded is OUT OF PRINT.

Who all here has heard Chad Smith's pre-RHCP band Toby Redd?

I have HSAS on LP. If I ever find a place to put a record player in my house, I'll have to give that LP a spin.

Classic album!!! "Missing you" and "My hometown" however, are my favorites.
What is understood need not be discussed

"Dont disturb my paradise. I've asked you once. I've asked you nice" - "SERIOUS JU JU"

"I am in a blissful state. Dont bug me!!!" - Richard Dreyfuss "The Goodbye girl" 1977
