    K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton

This is a pretty hard one, hmmmm.

I like Adam Dutkiewicz and Joel Stroetzel from Killswitch Engage, even though I know they aren't the best.

Dave Murray and Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden or maybe James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett from Metallica. Even though I'm not a huge fan of Hammett's playing.

the guys from the eagles. I don't care much for the eagles but as far as great guitarists in on group...hard to vote against those guys.

Pearl Jam has a great duo as well.

And let us not forget the 1,2,3 punch from that british group in the sixties...what was their name? Shit...the Beatles...yeah. They had some hits.
    Stay out of it, dude.

Maiden is a good call. People will probably laugh, but when Steve Clark was alive Def Leppard had some good interplay. I especially love the solo in "Die Hard the Hunter"

Michael Sweet and Oz Fox from Stryper.

    The guys from Thin Lizzy.

I am a huge fan of Thin Lizzy. They were a very unique bank, duo guitars and a bass that played lead. "The Rocker" is a great song. How about Hagar and his guitar player from his solo days. If you recall, Hagar played a lot live back in the day.

Ok, follow the rules now. AC/DC requires no skill whatsoever. They are a cool "band", but the skill level is rather low.

So far, I think the front runners are:
    Iron Maider
    Night Ranger

I was going to throw Whitesnake in the mix, but what era? Sykes/Vanderberg, Campbell/Vandenberg, Vai/Vandenberg, Aldrich/Beach??

I cant comment on Lizzy, I was never a fan. Hagar is a good solo choice, but his guitar player never really held skills.... IMO

Stryper had really good harmony's. I ran in to Oz Fox at the NAMM show and he really didnt do anything for me. His playing seemed pretty basic, it always seemed like Sweet did all the cool solos.

IMO, Def Leppard falls in the "cool" catagory. We are talking skills..... Steve Clark and Phil Collen were cool, not shredders...... Although Phil did some cool solos.

Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner. These guys were amazing, performing tag-team work for Lou Reed and Alice Cooper. Their best known piece was the opening duet on "Sweet Jane" from Reed's Rock N Roll Animal live album.

Honorable mention: Johnny Winter/Rick Derringer "Good Mornin' Little School Girl" from Johnny Winter And Live

My favorite is Night Ranger because both guys sound different than the typical heavy metal guitarists.

However for power and attitude I got to go with Kerry King and Jeff ? from Slayer.

I agree. Jeff Watson put out a solo album awhile back that was pretty good. I think it was called "Lone Ranger"......???

Night Ranger live was awesome. Both VERY skilled guitarists......

I agree with you on Whitesnake big time. Also, doesn't anyone remember the Sammy/Eddie guitar playing live? As in, One Way To Rock, etc.

    Sounded fantastic.
