    Default question about backup drives

my comp which is a lil over 4 years old shut itself down today with some weird blue screen i've never seen so i did a system restore. my E: drive has no room on it as it's filled with norton ghost backups. my comp used to tell me it needed more room and to delete unnecessary files.

so...is it ok to delete what's in that folder then do a full system restore?

i can't even defragment the E: drive cuz it's so full

delete what folder? there are many folders you can delete from but you wanna be careful. i am not a bitg system restore man. i build my own and also work on computers and always disable it. takes up to much space. send me a pm and we can dig further into what problems you are having. i also have some programs you can run to help clear everything up.

It sounds like you don't want them. And a full restore starts you out at day one. So you should answer this yourself. But if you want an answer. Only if there isn't anything you want. Confuse you yet?

For future reference, MajorGeeks.com is a great site. They have support forums there, too.

Norton is bloatware. I wound up dumping all of it and going with AVG free.

    Don't read this.

    Another Norton vs AVG thread.

Personally, I am an AVG or the Graver.

As for back-up, ever since my 5 year old hard disc started making sounds like gears crunching, I have everyting of value on USB sticks. I have so much music and so many work files on my desktop computer that, had it gone before I backed it all up, I would have been in the doodoo.

    Neck deep.

    Now I sleep soundly.
