Billy has never done our VH boys wrong...but my personal fav is:

...funniest part about this vid is that I've met Steve Stevens, and he IS a small guy...but CHRIST, even an EBMM EVH strapped on him looks like a friggin' bass...

Billy always does VH justice! Him and his band were on Soundstage (PBS) the other night with a recent performance from Chicago. It was awesome as usual. They played Devil's Playground and the old classics too. It's going to air again at the end of this month for those of you who missed it the first time. Check it out:

Did Steve Stevens leave Billy's band again?

Also...THAT would be a pairing I'd pay to see......EVH and Billy Idol. That would be one BITCHIN' collaboration.

Not that I'm aware of. That recent show I mentioned had Stevens present. I don't ever see him not being in Billy's band. They may have went their separate ways back then (probably due to Billy's heavy drug usage and the band finally fizzling) but now things are going great for the band with Devil's Playground and the following tour. Their band is TIGHT! If you get a chance to see them, go. You won't be disappointed.

I agree that Ed and Billy collaborating would be kinda cool.

I think in that clip Billy was jamming with some other band. Its not his regular band so I don't think he and Steve have parted ways. I know he is a big VH fan and he and Ed are as Ed likes to call his acquaintences, "buds".

If VH ever went with a new singer other than Dave, Sam or Gary I'd like to see them do it with Billy.

It was Billy Idol jamming with the Big Ball Allstars. It was a fairly recent event where numerous musicians participated and played cover songs etc. You can find several clips of Idol helping out doing covers if you look below that actual video. He does a respectable job with the Who's "Real Me". Check that one out!

In the video posted, Steve Stevens is not on stage. I agree with Eddymon, I think Billy was playing with a different band.

I don't think there's a harder band to cover than classic VH. It just never sounds good to me.

VH with Dave ('78-'84) - The best years....the "real" VH.
VH with Sam ('86-'96) - Incredible era....."We have renamed this town 'New Halen!'.
VH with Gary ('98) - Fucking disaster. WTF was that??
VH with Wolf/Dave ('12-'15) - Amazing comeback. Smokin' album and tours.

    Nice videos!

I took my wife to see Billy and Steve back in 2004 at a small club in Rhode Island. My wife was ecstatic because we got there early enough to be 5th in line to get into the general admission show. Yup, we parked our asses right up against the plywood barrier in front of the stage to be in the front row. Billy and Steve ROCKED the roof off of the joint that night and it was totally awesome. We definitely got our money's worth of a performance that night.

The only drawback was that I had chicks jumping on my back all night and when it was over, I felt like I had gone 10 rounds with Muhammad Ali.

I was at the Celebrity Theater in Anaheim in 1988, to see the jam that the bottom pic was taken at.
