Default US Festival will be officially released?

Just a couple VH songs, but that would make this the first official live release for anything live from the Dave era whenever they release it in the States. Should've picked a different song than "OPW." I can see "YRGM/HT," but an original should've been the other one. Either way. From melodicrock.com:

    US FESTIVAL 83 TO DVD:
It seems there is a compilation DVD in the works celebrating the legendary US Festival 1983, which featured bands like Motley Crue, Scorpions, U2, Van Halen and Triumph - the performances from which have been bootlegged for years.
Details are a little sketchy at the moment. I have only picked up on a Japanese release date, but I guess it is bound to be a worldwide release eventually.
Right now King Records Japan will release US Festival 1983 on September 9.
Running 120 minutes, the DVD track list will apparently be: The One Thing - Inxs; The Boys In Town - Divinyls; Goodbye Goodbye - Oingo Boing; Jeanette - English Beat; Words - Missing Persons; Rock This Town, Please Make Up Your Mind - Stray Cats; Who Can It Be Now, It's A Mistake - Men At Work; Should I Stay Or Should I Go - The Clash; Breakin' The Law, Another Thing Coming - Judas Priest; Fight The Good Fight, Lay It On The Line, Magic Power - Triumph; Sex - Berlin; Outside The Rain, Standback - Stevie Nicks; Electric Company, Sunday Bloody Sunday - U2; You Really Got Me, Pretty Woman, Happy Trails - Van Halen; The Zoo - Scorpions; You Can Run - Flock Of Seagulls; Ohio - Pretenders; Life In The Fast Lane - Joe Walsh; Metal Health, Cum On Feel The Noise - Quiet Riot.
Special Features are listed as: bonus tracks - "Fight the Good Fight, World of Fantasy (Triumph)," Can't Get Enough (Scorpions)".
    Stay tuned for any updates.
Triumph's appearance at the festival has already been released on DVD by the band independently.

It will be cool to have that one.

This is fairly interesting, as King Records is a well established label in Japan, and is distributed through Sony. The outfit handles soundtracks and pop releases primarily. Hopefully, the footage will not be the same crummy stuff that shows up at Amazon.com every 5 or 6 months.

Great to see all that love for Triumph. But I think there's a typo since Fight The Good Fight is listed as a regular track and a bonus track.

The 2 VH tunes I dig from the US performance are Jaimie's Cryin' and Secrets. Dave did a bit better on those two verses some of the other tunes as we know he was pretty well lit!

I'm sure they'll have the edited versions of those songs (that they did for Showtime).

I'd be interested in checking this out...provided that it wasn't, as chef said, the same old scratchy quality that shows up here and there.
    Stay out of it, dude.

I'd like to see the entire show with all sets included myself. But that's just me.

Apparently they want to only use songs by guys with three-letter names that begin with R and end with Y.

You Really Got Me - Ray Davies
Oh, Pretty Woman - Roy Orbison
    Happy Trails - Roy Rogers

I'd think the show producers would own the video rights, but would they have to get songwriter permission before releasing anything? That could explain why no VH originals are included.

Those 3 songs have been available as Pro Shot's for at least 10 years. I believe that those were the only 3 songs that were Pro Shot with the production team that assembled those clips.

I think you're probably on to something. Good thinking.

They've been playing day one on vh1 classics lately and it matches this set list exactly so far.
