Default New Tour 1st? Or New Music?

With bands touring now doing their old catalog example Aerosmith touring doing Toys in the attic cd front to back and JP doing British Steel cd front to back and other bands doing the same. Is it out of the question to say VH would tour 1st again say doing the Fairwarning cd front to back before we hear new music? Whats your thoughts members?

I'm convinced that they'll record some new music before they tour again. Not sure how much or what the quality will be, but I have to imagine there will be something.

    New music.
What is understood need not be discussed

The other bands (including the Crue doing Dr. Feelgood as well) you mentioned have every right to pull from their nostalgia, because they at least have continued to offer new music, and with them checking out the past is a novelty. VH has been riding their past since Van Halen Greatest Hits-Volume I (Oh yeah.......I'm forgetting two new tunes from that one, and three Sustainer clad gems from BOBW. ) and that's the sad reality. So they definately need to get new music out first.

I like the idea of VH doing FW front to back. If they did indeed go out and play FW front to back I would go see that for sure. But only for FW, no other album would get my interest like FW does. Otherwise they need to put out some new music and then tour.

it would be pretty hard to sell another nostalgia tour, even one that celebrated the anniversary of one of their records.

I too would like to see some new music.
    Stay out of it, dude.

They already did a tour so I guess the question has already been answered. I think another tour before a new release would just make all of us wait another year before we would get our hands on it.

If they continue to tour without new music they would soon see their crowd sizes go from arenas, to state fairs, to casinos (and we know Ed would retire before he would get to that level).

    It's time for new music.

Further, were VH to tour off an old album, FW happens to be the least popular album in the whole catalog. (Other than III). More likely you'd get 1984 or VH. Now, considering 5 of 9 1984 songs and 9 of 11 songs off VH were performed last tour it would be fairly redundant to do that.

    It's time for new music.

Agreed. New music, then tour. And hopefully feature a stage design that doesn't look like it came from the old Arsenio Hall show this time out.

I wouldn't mind 4-5 new, solid tunes in a set mixed with the oldies or even them playing an album front to back. Since they played most of the debut already, I think they should go with "1984" from a commercial standpoint.
