Does anyone remember this great Canadian band?
I recently heard on Satalite Radio that there is a possibility of a Triumph reunion.

I remember catching a Triumph performance at the old Los Angeles forum in the early 80's.
I also heard that Rik Emmett and his band mates went through a lengthy court battle for which Rik was paid a sum of money for a seven year period.

So does anyone know if it's true about a Triumph reunion? Thank you

Dude, I used to be a huge Triumph fan and have always wished for a reunion, but it's not gonna happen anytime soon. Rik was interviewed around Christmas time and he acted like the door was closed on any potential reunion. Hopefully, he's backtracked on this!

Here's an update on Rik if anyone's interested...

I have four projects on the go right now. Here's the order that I think they'll hit the street ...
-The CD Slide Show. A CD that will play on any home computer, full of slides, set to music and commentary, covering some aspects of a career retrospective.

-"Bric-a-brac". It's a digital book (a printed version is also in the works) available for download, or as a burned CD, that contains a collection of writings from yours truly.

-I'm busy working away in The Rec Room studio, trying to record all of the masters for "TRINITY SQUARE", a fully instrumental CD, mostly acoustic-based, that combines a lot of the most intense flavours from INVITATIONS and also SWING SHIFT.

-I'm also working up 11 songs for a singer/songwriter CD, called "Good Faith". Again, it's mostly acoustic-based, but the range of material runs from jazzy latin rhythms to uptempo world beat stuff, and it should have plenty of material that would satisfy a fan who thought that "Spiral Notebook" was a good CD.

Triumph was damn good back in their hey day. Fight the good Fight, Magic Power, Never Say Never, Hold On, Follow Your Heart etc... I'd love to see a reunion but I'm not holding my breath.

I LOVED Triumph back in the day. I saw them on the Thunder Seven tour and that was one of the best shows I had ever been to. Lasers everywhere - it was amazing. Unfortunately, most of their music hasn't aged too well, IMO.

I don't think that there will be a reunion because Rik doesn't want it to happen.

I like Triumph. The only thing about them that i'm not crazy about are the vocals. Rik Emmett is a really good guitar player though. I'm actually waiting for their Greatest Hits to be remastered, I heard that it was supposed to be remastered last year but I have never seen it in stores.

My favorite songs by them are Magic Power, Follow Your Heart and Fight The Good Fight.

Cool...

I also heard there was a special DVD coming out to
commemorate the band's appearance from the 1983 US
festival.

Man do I miss this band live in concert!
They were in my opinion, one of the best live acts
I've seen, and I have seen over 500 concerts in my time!
