    Default I Got Mine!!!

After years of wishing, I finally got an EBMM/EVH. It's Cherry-Burst, and plays Great. Some buckle rash and a couple dings, but overall in good condition.

Had to trade my 20th anniversary PRS SC trem and a LTD GL-256 for it, but I don't care. This is the guitar I've wanted since they came out, but could never find.

    I'm happy.

    Pictures shortly.

    Default And here's the pics

Looks more like a honey-burst, though I can't remember what this color was officially called.

    It replaced this guitar:

God damn these EBMM are just things of beauty!!!

What a beautiful guitar. The EBMM EVH is the next electric guitar I will purchase (maybe the Ibanez JS 1200 will come first but who knows).

When I purchase said guitar is the REAL question....

The EBMM EVH will always be the the most minimally-produced guitar of all the original EVH guitars (not including the striped Charvels and the Frankenstein replica, of course, but they were not "original" designs). That being said, it's understandable why you'd sacrifice to get one. Congrats, and enjoy it!

The EBMM/EVH is the ONLY guitar I would have traded that PRS for. I've owned PRS guitars before, but the single cut with the trem and the PRS #6 pickups is by far the best I've owned. I really loved it, BUT, I had to get this one.

Now, after having an opportunity to spend some quality time with her, I will chime in on the Axis neck vs. EVH neck question.

I notice no signifigant difference in the feeling of the EVH neck and the Axis neck, UNTIL you get to about the 8th fret. It becomes more pronounced the farther up the neck you go. It's not the fretboard, but the back of the neck that feels different, to me anyway. It's not enough of a difference to throw you off, but it's slighly noticable. From the 8th fret to the headstock, I noticed no difference in the feel of the neck compared to the Axis at all.

These are just my perceptions, and probably are greatly dependent on how you grip your neck.

Thats a beautiful axe man! I dig the EVH MM's. Congrats on finally getting one. I love the finish/color.

    Awesome axe!

I also sold my PRS Singlecut Trem (Artist) to help finance my EvH too.
The PRS was a gorgeous guitar, but I have absolutely no regrets.
IMO, the EvH is a much better "player" and IMO, will most likely be a better long term investment simply due to the fewer numbers that were produced.

As for the EvH vs. Axis neck ...
The only difference that I'm aware of is that the neck on the Axis is 1/32" wider at the heel than the EvH. Other than that, they're the same.

Thanks Dino. That would explain why it feels different to me the closer to the heel that I get.

I thought they made the neck wider because of a problem with the High E string slipping off the bottom of the neck. That's unusual, because on this particular guitar, the Low E string seems closer to the top of the neck, and the High E string seems about right. At first, I thought it could be neck shift, but the neck fits very snug into the pocket, and there are no gaps I can see. It's not a problem, as I haven't yet pushed the Low E off the top of the neck. If you look closely at the picture, you can see the Low E getting close to the fret taper the closer you get to the 22nd fret. I'm assuming this is why the Axis necks are wider.
