Default Eddie Van Halen Thanks God for Sobriety and Guitar Riffs

There is a new Eddie Van Halen interview conducted by Spinner.com.

(VHND.com notes: This interview was conducted sometime before the interview that Eddie did with Rolling Stone two weeks ago)

Sad, but I just don't care anymore.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Now the new David-Lee-Roth-Van Halen album, “Tokyo Dome In Concert,” is available for purchase, and it’s super, super, super, super, super, super, crazy bad. - Doug Elfman

"...same with the song ‘Right Now.’ Alex and I tracked the whole thing, certain people didn’t want to be a part of it, then it wins a Grammy and a MTV Award for Video of the Year, and all of a sudden it’s like, “Hey, yeah, great!” But it was like pulling teeth to get the person to sing the damn song."

Sings like a bird. Rocks like a pig.

"...I hope that after Janie and I get married in June and Wolfie graduates that we sit down and discuss recording new music, which I have tons of, if Dave’s up for singing … and then do another tour and just see where it takes us....
    ...
...So yeah, if Van Halen as the world knows it right now is over, then … Put it this way: Originally, when Dave quit in ‘85, I’d already spoken to Phil Collins, Joe Cocker, Pete Townshend, all kinds of people to have different singers on every song."
Sings like a bird. Rocks like a pig.

I named him after the right guy [Mozart], that’s for damn sure. A lot of the stuff on the Van Halen records is very basic and simple; live, midway through the tour, he started noodling around. He got bored just doing the simple stuff that’s on the record. His first instrument is drums, he’s an amazing drummer; he’s got the Van Halen gene, I guess. Nobody thought that he’d be able to pull off Mike Anthony’s background vocals, and he did.

Jesus Ed, shut the fuck up.

Good interview...very candid. Unfortunately, that means Ed just gave the Linkers ammo for kicking him in the nuts for about 1000 pages. And, yeah, he probably deserves most of it.

Don't care...I like the music, not the man...don't need to. I'm grateful to him for the joy he's allowed me to buy, and I'm happy he's happy (because I think it's wrong to wish unhappy on anyone). He's a genius...He's an asshole. But then, there's a long list of geniuses who were assholes. He's beat cancer, is beating the bottle...maybe he'll come around and beat his own arrogance as well.
    I like Van Halen.

I think Ed needs to look in some his local coupon books for some Electro-Shock therapy treatments at half price.

Sam didn't want to sing Right Now? Who wrote the damn song then Ed? I believe Sam did. So you're telling me Sam didn't want to sing a song he wrote?

Awww....Poor Eddie. Because of the shit that comes out of his mouth. We need to feel bad for him because some of us pick up on the smell of bullshit and we want to get rid of said smell.

Ed stay healthy and sober bro. Let Al or Dave do the talking. Just play the fuckin' shit out of the guitar.

    Thanks Jeff.
The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

Kinda funny, no matter what he says, he looses in all the eyes of the linkers.

So I guess he'd been to Dave's 4 or 5 times between interviews.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

I guess if you look long enough and hard enough, you can find fault with anything so it won't shock me when this whole interview is ripped to shreds. His comment about Mikey is actually a compliment in saying that his vocals were very difficult to replace.

Anyway, thanks for posting Jeff. Always appreciate reading new stuff.
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.

Ed wrote it same time he wrote Hear about it later. So no.
