Default What was your first computer?

I just saw an old Apple print ad, and it got me thinking about how far the personal computer has come. Personally, Ive been a computer geek long enough to remember when that was a dergoatory term!
I'm sure there are more like me out there in VH land, guys & gals who had those primitive computers in their rooms, ala "War Games".
So dig out your old 5 1/4" floppies, fire up the cassette BASIC interpreter, and post your setups
    My 1st two:

    The mighty TI-99/4A.

This was barely a computer, as it had no storage other than the cassette-based crap, and that didnt work unless you disconnected it and blew it out before you turned it on. It was basically a game-cartridge machine with a keyboard.

Later, though, after ace-ing "Intro to Computers", I received the mighty Amiga 1000!

This was an AWESOME machine that I still have set up in the basement.
"Look, I'll pay you for it, what the f**k?!"

"If I don't make her happy in the bedroom the wife gets bitchy for days at a time, but when I come to bed ready for action she laughs and laughs. She even laughs while I make my moves so I know I must be pleasing her as only I can do."

Commodore 64. I figured I was two steps removed from the computer on Star Trek when my folks bought that bad boy.

I had an external floppy drive, too.

You gotta love the VIC-20. My best friend and I programmed some pretty sweet stuff won that. Graphics, even...you know, using PEEK and POKE statements and all that jive.

The first new computer I purchased was a pentium 133 non mmx with 64 mb of RAM, 3.2 gig hard drive, 33.6 modem, 1mb vid card i believe. Cost out the @#$ at $2400.00. That was top of the line at the time. bought an epson pro xl printer for an extra $500. Long before it was practical to build your own. Quantex was the company. It had windows 95 on it and the first game I put on it was Quake 1. ROCKED!!! That and the first DESCENT. Aah the good old days.

I used a hdless laptop b4 that that booted and ran from a floppy with bananacom terminal and 1200 baud modem. took a long time to refresh the images even though it was dos based. Played on BBSes with that one lol.

ZX81. I believe it had about 1k memory.

It really is incredible how far the computer has come. I can remember a work computer i used in the mid eighties and the sheer surprise that one picture looked almost like a photo - such graphics.

Imagine what the next twenty years has in store for us.....
