Default Eminem Gets A Facefull Of Sacha Baron Cohen's Butt At MTV's Movie Awards

Lose Yourself: Eminem freaks out at the MTV Movie Awards

For someone who pokes such fun at celebrities, Eminem certainly acts like a baby when other celebrities give it to him. At last night's rather trivial MTV Movie Awards, Eminem, who performed his mediocre new single, We Made You, in a stiff, mediocre performance, than took his seat amidst the bigger Twilight and High School Musical 3 celebrities in the crowd.

It was when Sacha Baron Cohen came as Bruno to present an award to Zac Efron, that Eminem freaked out. Cohen, wearing angel wings, buttless underpants and being suspended from a ceiling scaffold, landed, rear first, on Eminem's face.

Yelling, "Are you serious?" into Bruno's bum, it was a bad look for the former gangster rapper. As his bodyguards knocked Cohen around like a pinata, Cohen knocked off a series of funny lines.

"Get off me," he screamed. "I already have a boyfriend."

It was a funny, weird moment, and whether or not it was planned -- it seems highly suspicious than Bruno would drop from the ceiling and just happen to land, ass first, on Eminem's face -- Eminem's response still was embarrassing. This stuff is supposed to be funny and stupid. Earlier, Forest Whitaker, Chris Isaak and Leanne Rhimes had sung an operatic version of host Andy Samberg's song D---k in a Box. If you're going to the MTV Awards, Slim, chill. But Eminem has a history of acting hard at the moments where it matters the least.

In 2002, after feuding with Christina Aguilera and Moby, Eminem also went after Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, the puppet voiced by Robert Smigel. The clip is so offensive to Eminem, that he made Viacom take it off the internet and hasn't allowed MTV to rebroadcast the show again without editing out their fight. (If someone can find a clip of the event, please post it here). Again, this is a grown man who got into a fight with a puppet. And now he's fighting with a fictitious Austrian fashion host.

At last night's MTV Movie Awards, High School Musical 3 and Twilight were the big winners, and Bruno also scored a funny PR coup. But once again Eminem came out a big loser. Or, more accurate, the losers were the people who actually like his work. And not just because his performance was barely lukewarm. But because he's the only one taking these things seriously. Relapse, indeed.

Sacha Baron Cohen takes things further than any guy in comedy.

    Ever.

Eminem has the sense of humour of a prom queen being gang raped by drunken meerkats.

    Good.

The fools' a hundred pounds soaking wet. In my day, in a fair fight, he'd be running home to Mommy with a black eye and a busted nose. I've got friends who's kids got into that twerp. They started talking like him then alot more hardcore rap, and movies, and whatnot, and getting all lippy, and swearin' at them and on and on. They took action though, and sent the older brother to military school. Fixed 'em both right quick! Where is North America going, when people like him are marketed as role models to our kids? He's just garbage. Hell, maybe I'm just getti'n old, but music and the rest of media just wasn't like this when I was young.

Cohen reminds me of Andy Kauffman when he went off the deep end. But Andy had a brain tumor that caused it...Cohen is just a tool.

Actually, both of these guys are tools.
It is a sad fact that these guys are well paid entertainers.

I think he was in on the gag, just like Pamela Anderson was in Borat...no way MTV would allow such a dis to one of their favorites...and a huge money maker/ratings booster as Eminem.

you know...now that you mention it, I think it would have been even funnier if bruno had run down the aisle when eminem was walking back to his seat and just punched him in the balls!

I meant role model more in that obviously he's not aimed at adults. He's aimed at youth, and the line of bullshit the execs give to people is that "he speaks for today's youth." I remember up here we've got this childrens tv channel, and they had this cereal promotion where if you submitted some online code something or other on the back of some kiddie cereal you could win tickets for yourself and a friend to go see Eminem in Toronto.Yayyyyyy! I also saw alot of Eminem T shirts on pretty small kids. It kinda freaked me out! Just the whole Gangsta thing in general is a joke! You know, I was watching this thing on one of those investigative reports type shows, and they said that the demagraphic that buys rap music, is 12 to 19 year olds. 78% are white, come from a upper middle class to wealthy home. Yeeeahhhh..... I can see how that crap speaks to well off kids. Fight da' power, G! That pud should be sentanced to sniffing cutter for 20 to life! Go Bruno!
