    Van Halen: The Off-Broadway Musical

Make that "Very-Far-Off-Broadway. This is the Northwest Missouri State Celebration Show Choir singing a Van Halen Medley of "Jump" and "Dreams". (http://www.nwmissouri.edu/university...elebration.htm)

The term "jaw-dropping" comes to mind.

Northwest's Celebration show choir will present its annual spring review at 8 p.m. Friday, April 24, in Mary Linn Auditorium at the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts.

The show, titled Celebration: It’s a Brand New Day! is free and open to the public and will feature a variety of choreographed numbers, jazz harmony arrangements, ballads and show tunes.

This year’s edition of Celebration includes 32 singer/dancers plus a live, eight-piece band. The program of large ensemble, small group and solo performances features signature melodies from a number of popular Broadway musicals, such as “Evita” (“Buenos Aires”), “Man of La Mancha” (“The Impossible Dream”), “Funny Girl” (“People”), “Paint Your Wagon” (“They Call the Wind Maria”) and “A Little Night Music” (“Send in the Clowns”).

Additional highlights include the title selection, “Brand New Day!” from “The Wiz,” and Leonard Bernstein’s “Glitter and be Gay” from “Candide,” known to vintage television fans as the theme from a series of 1970s and '80s network and cable talk shows hosted by Dick Cavett.

The spring show brings to a close an exciting year for Celebration, which performs under the direction of Dr. Brian Lanier, assistant professor of music. In March the group went on the road for a series of shows in Missouri and Florida, including appearances at the Missouri Capitol and Walt Disney World.

One of a number of student vocal ensembles organized through the Department of Music, Celebration doubles during the fall trimester as the Madraliers, a chamber chorale noted for its annual participation in Northwest’s Yuletide Feaste holiday banquet.

“It’s a Brand New Day” is being staged with assistance from the Department of Communication, Theatre and Languages, which is providing assistance with lighting and sets.
"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."

It's different, I'll give em that! But, given the big picture, giving VH some props in whatever style you choose can't be a bad thing.

Whitey truly at his best would be a barbershop quartet of some Van Halen tune.

Holy mother of God! That's....well, something.
    SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls

"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.
Those of you who have been on this ride before, the hottie in the mini will be around shortly with your drinks......." Red

Chef, you should really have put a warning sign before showing this video, as it could be heart-attack inducing for a specific section of the VH fanbase, namely the Rothtards. No one ever before had attempted to FUSE CVH and Van Hagar in one single song... it's like if Sam and Dave were gay for each other and had a kid together!

At the same time it proves what any sane people knows - "Jump" and "Dreams" are actually very similar songs, that's why this "fusion" is even possible. Nope, Sam didn't ruin VH or make it "pop"... he just went along with the program.

is that a high school choir or what?

I thought the segue from Jump to Dreams was pretty slick...good to see Micheal Buble still active.
    Stay out of it, dude.
