The last several Iron Maiden tours "Doctor Doctor" has served as the intro music prior to them going on stage.

It helped me get a little interested in them.

Still going and not too shabby. Still miss Schenker. Vinnie Moore is not slouch though. Wish Paul Chapman would make a return. As much as I love Schenker, the few albums Chapman did after Schenker left for good were awesome. I saw these guys when Schenker returned in 95 and got all their autographs. It was bloody awesome. I picked up the guitar because of Michael Schenker. To get to meet him face to face was other-worldly.

They had some really cool songs that I discovered thanks to satellite radio. I love Lights Out, The Writer, Only You Can Rock Me & Rock Bottom. I love the production of those 70s metal tunes.

Because of this thread, I dug out Strangers In The Night, and I am enjoying listening to it again. I have the version that is remastered and a couple more tracks.

UFO and Deep Purple are my Led Zeppelin.

I do agree UFO is better off these days without Schenker these days.

That would be in the late 90's before Schenkers more recent alcohol meltdown as he's playing the trademark "V" he ended up selling when he ran out of money. UJ Roth was/is a fucking monster guitar player. His years with the Scorps were the best for that band, IMO. Them Germans can play that gitar purty well.

Since his latest bout with booze, Schenker has been pretty off the mark. He was stellar but time and lifestyle are catching up to him. Sad. He was THE guitar hero for me. I hope he continues on the road to mend.

I tried to see him the last 2 times he toured. I finally gave up on him after the last cancellation.

His latest U.S. tour started yesterday. Gary Barden is back with him. The new acoustic album sounds decent. Not coming near here but I may be in Cleveland when he comes there. If so, I'll risk a few dollars to see him.

I really hope he gets it together. He is the reason I picked up the guitar. I saw MSG in 1980 opening for Cheap Trick and was blown away. I met him in 1995 and he was gracious and cool. It saddens me that he's been such a mess in recent years but its never too late for someone to turn it around as long as they are breathing.
