Default New Charvel San Dimas re-issue

I wanted to let you guys know that I just got the Alpine White Charvel San Dimas. I think list is $1099? I got mine for $850, and I gotta tell you, this guitar is huge bang for the buck.

I have a Charvel custom shop, and the neck feels the same. I paid $2000 for that one, and the San Dimas seems to be just as good. I gigged with it Saturday night, and the Duncan 59 sounded great. THe JB was questionable. I love alder, it is a great tone wood. The guitar nearly played itself. If you are looking for a great deal, these are great guitars.

I did on Sunday swap out the JB to a Peavey HP bridge pickup, and my pickup issue was solved. Some like the JB, it is just does not have the bottom that I like to have.

Pick one up if you get a chance, or at least check them out. It may be the guitar you are looking for.

Holy shit, your review could not have come at a better time! I picked this up on eBay last week for $729 (scroll down a little for the pic):

I'm actually working from home today because it's supposed to be delivered. Thanks.

Man .. that's not much more than I paid for my San Dimas back in 1985!

Looks like you both got a great deal!

I know. I can't wait for this thing to get here. I've had a "gear-boner" since I won it last week. We have rehearsal tonight, so I hope it gets here before and not after.

You got the Dimarzios too. Lucky. That is a Tone Zone and a Air Norton I believe. I like Dimarzio better than Duncan.

You will have a great rehersal tonight. It is a great guitar.....

Tone Zone and Evolution. The Tone Zone is my favorite bridge pickup, especially w/adler. The Tone Zone/Air Norton is my favorite pickup combo - have those in my tele. I'm willing to give the Evolution a shout though. In general, I prefer DiMarzios over Duncans. Plus, if the Evolution is good enough for Vai...

BTW, UPS just came and this thing looks brand new. All of the case candy, including the bar for the Floyd, is still sealed in the plastic bag. Guess I'm done working from home for today! I can wait for rehearsal! Will report back tomorrow. Good luck w/yours.

I might have to pick one up with a pickguard....... Less wood, loss of tone?? Probably not..... especially with the Dimarzios.... That tone zone is a bad ass.....

That purple one with the pickguard looks very tempting. Must control myself.

A music store in Belfast has these, and I've made a couple of side trips recently to go and play them. They have a black San Dimas Style 1, the one without the pickguard, and it keeps calling me...

If not for the fact that I've bought three guitars over the last six months, I'd have bought it for sure. If a certain deal works out for me, I may yet succumb.

It's official: this thing rocks! Played it for the entire 2 1/2 hour practice lawst night and it's phenomenal! Even like the Evolution pickup in the neck.
