Default May 24th - The Mod Club - Reviews

Alright........whew.....Let me catch my breath here.....

Okay. Wow. Just got back home from the show. I don't know if it beats the experience that I had with VH in 2004 but one thing is certain...this show will NEVER.....EVER.....be matched...by any other....EVER AGAIN.

I could talk about the setlist and the guitars that were used but we ALL know all that....

So here are some of the MANY...MANY pictures I took during this evenings performance.......The VIP was worth it....but even without it....you're in for an AMAZING...AMAZING NIGHT!

It was fun but I wish it wasn't all mostly middle aged guys at these things. I enjoyed meeting everyone I talked to (wearing my new Fogerty shirt) though.

This may be my last really loud concert. I really can't take being slammed like that anymore, and I wouldn't do it without better shoes either.

Oh Yeah is probably the tune with the most commercial potential.

They all looked pretty sober and sincerely into it. Hagar acts like he does on the big stage when he plays a club, which was nice.

It was great to get out and talk about 'Halen experiences and opinions with locals. Nice to see Jetguy and Cabo Brent. There were other guys I recognized from other parts of my life but it had been too long to remember who they were. If you saw me and I'm talking about you, no offense.

The person that wrote that review apparently doesn't see the value of CF promoting their entire new CD by playing all the new material instead of taking the easy way out and playing a bunch of material from each of their pasts:

"Their set list could also be so much stronger and diverse given the four members' respective and impressive back catalogues."

Maybe CF will add a couple of tunes from their pasts later but for now I think for now they are doing the right thing with their set list. It certainly prevents some criticism, like that they're relying on their pasts too much. The music on the new CD holds up on its own.
"Seems the old folks who come up short were the pretty little kids who didn't want it, no." - Van Halen (1979)

"Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall." - Confucius

"The possibility that we may fail in the struggle should not deter us from supporting a cause we believe to be just." - Abraham Lincoln

He was definitely there. We could see him from our vantage point.

"For now, it's certainly nice to see Hagar and Anthony, who had traded in his Jack Daniels bass for one designed with the Chickenfoot logo, having so much fun after some rough treatment by Eddie Van Halen."

I'm fulling expecting Congress to question EVH during their waterboarding auditions... "Mr Van Halen, there is strong suspicion you didn't respect the Geneva Convention fully a few years ago when detaining Mr Anthony at 5150..."

I blew kisses at Mikey just about as much as you kissed Wolfie's dick during the 07/08 shows.

Um, huh? Nah, I didn't pay any attention to that kid. Didn't need to.

You miss Mikey, don't you. Don't worry, he loves you too.
