Default Hey? How About Another Dumb Idea From Hollywood?

They're making the classic kids game "Battleship" into a movie.

    http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/...a661db36154a27

Sure, they could remake "Sink the Bismark", or make a movie about the battle of Laytee Gulf, or Coral Sea, or Midway, or any one of a number of WWII sea battles.

    Nope.

Are you sure this isn't a practical joke? Reread the last paragraph.

"Universal has several board game titles in development as part of its six-year deal with Hasbro. "Ouija Board" is being produced by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes shingle, "Candy Land" has Kevin Lima attached to direct with Etan Cohen writing the script, and Ridley Scott is developing a project based on "Monopoly."

No word on James Cameron's "Uno". I was hoping for an update.

Well, shit...I better dust off that "Rock'em Sock'em Robots" idea I had, along with the "Gnip-Gnop" and "Hogan's Heroes" scripts I've been dicking with. And I guess my idea of a porn take on "Password" (with Ron Jeremy in the Allen Ludden role) is a foregone conclusion at this point.

Perhaps it would be a good idea for me to remain mum regarding my screenplay for an X-rated combination of "Mouse Trap" and Milton Bradley's "Twister", eh? Apparently these idiotic flights of fancy are now considered mainstream at this point.

Thanks for the stultifying confirmation, Menlow.

    Hollywood IS a joke.

Remember, they've made two movies based on "CLUE" and "Jumanji".

Hasbro owns Milton Bradley, Hasbro owns the rights to GI Joe. GI Joe is already a movie that sucks so bad that they don't want to release it.

Yeah, I saw a clip for GI Joe the other evening. It looks like a generic, "blow shit up" espionage/war story with the title simply grafted on. Didn't we already see this movie during a double-feature on cable's TNT channel, when Bruce Willis stopped an asteroid from hitting the Earth and Nicholas Cage had to steal a shitload of cars to save his brother?

Sink The Bismark was an awesome flick. I think the chick with the dark short hair was hot.
