    Default EVH - Fender project

Just finished this beast. The Wolfgang-shaped body with the single f-hole is from Stan at the Inventing Shed and is basswood with a spalted maple top. I painted the back black and I used countless coats of lemon oil on the top. Then everything was sprayed clear and buffed to a matte finish.
The neck is a Warmoth birdseye maple conversion neck (24 3/4" scale) with a graphite nut and string trees. The tuners are locking Schaller with ebony buttons. Trey from ebay set me up with the 'Fender EVH Wolfgang' decal and I got the EVH signature from best-decals.com. The pickup is the new EVH Frankenstein and the I have a Hipshot Baby Grand bridge on there.
The pickup is a little bright with the aluminum bridge, but this thing sounds great unplugged. And with the conversion-scale neck, it's perfect for jamming with commericals on the couch.
    Thanks for looking!

Killer guitar! Love the logos on the headstock. So are you gonna change the pickup out?

    Thanks.

Nah, I just have to get used to it. It's a chambered body, so it's not gonna sound like a Baretta or an EBMM.

    Very Nice!
I was checking out the Inventing Shed page a while ago but it seems they don't have any pricing on line, just a quote form.

Can you tell if they are reasonable priced? is it more in line with Warmoth or more like KNE?

My Wolfie replica with an Inventing Shed body is basically done; I'm just waiting on an original Floyd Rose to install in place of the Gotoh that's on there now and do some adjusting to the pickup shims.

Stan from Inventing Shed is a VERY good guy and was very easy to work with.

Great stuff as always, AT. The spalted maple has a great look, doesn't it? And what neck do you have on there?

Likewise. Stan seems to select spalted tops that have a deep flame to them as well. Did you get yours off eBay or have him built it for you specifically?

The neck on mine is the Frankenstraat I won off eBay a little more than a year ago. It needed some fret work before it could be mounted, but so far the thing has held up well. I'm quickly learning, however, I'm really not that fond of a 10" fingerboard radius; generally I like 12" or flatter.

Ahh... Frankenstraat. Very nice birdseye on that neck and your axe looks great with the zebra pickups. I won my spalted from Stan off of ebay back in February. Before that, I had contacted him re: single humbucker bodies and he began putting a couple on ebay. I originally had it in my mind to put a Bigsby on there, but there's not enough room on the body. Oh well.
