Dave's voice sounds good on this tune.

Song would sound so much better with Ed on guitars and Al on the drums.

It is. The clip is from the No Holds BBQ long form video that Roth released to various media outlets in 2002, which offered a general reaction of confused stares, puzzled looks and non-stifled yawns. Look, I worship the guy, and even I think it's God-awful.

Not a huge fan of the song, but it does work well with Dave's voice. Better than some of his rock endeavors like the CD with "Slam Dunk."

I like some of the music on the Barbecue DVD, but the videos are just absolutley looney tunes.

Agreed. Just overly weird, too weird that it just makes the thing so horrendously bad.

I got it somewhere about four years ago. I have it at the bottom of a box somewhere after I moved and don't plan on looking for it anytime soon.

Audio quality leads me to a question though. I have a DLR song called Kicks lying around, it's not really "Dave" but my God, it's a catchy song. I actually think it may be a cover but am unfamiliar with the original song and artist if that's the case. Anyone know where this came from? It sounds a lot like this song as far as quality goes, but am almost 100% positive it was not on No Holds BBQ.

I agree. The videos for much of it is Dave's silly humor and odd ideas gone to the extreme.

I like his humor though like the Little Ain't Enough video..where the salesman is selling Boom Boxes and at the end when it shows Dave's "Last Tour" in 2021 or something. lol

I think a lot of the music on this DVD is great though. Not purely because I'm a fan..a lot of it is catchy and pretty cool. This particular tune is very 70's disco sounding. I like the melody on it.

Was any of this ever sold on a disc or it's on the DVD only?

In my opinion, DLR took a shot and missed (with public favor), but I give him credit for taking the shot. "just a bit outside"!
Typically I can find something I like with most of the stuff he does, no matter how bizarre. Cool find cav .... oh yeah, I'm cav with 3 ginger ales in me (beers, that is )!

That is Dave and I believe it is a cover of a Paul Revere and the Riders song. I am sure Chef can verify.

Dave has a lot of unreleased covers, and per his book he has lots of them.

You see, I like ELO, so I would rather listen to that ten times before having to listen to "cherries on banannas" one more time.

But the video I agree with you whole heartedly, the DVD is just messed up, I just have the audio version from the old dlrarmy site.

i think it's pretty cool and he sounds great on this track...shows that beyond all the yowzas and ooooohhh and yeaahhhs he's got quite the voice. That's the thing with dave, I've always felt he had a much better voice than what he actually showed. Clips like this give a little insight into it.
    Stay out of it, dude.

I agree, I think Dave really is not a great hard rock singer. He seems to sing other types of music much better.

His best vocals in my humble opinion is on his EP.

Easy Street and Coconut Grove really show off his vocal chops.

Jesus, this sucks! It sounds like a bad ABBA cover. Not that there's such a thing as a good ABBA cover, but nonetheless...
