My only critique would be the starting depth of the neck. The Wolfgang is a little closer to a .820 profile I believe and if I remember correctly the EVH MM neck isn't too much thicker than the wolf.

Anyone have an Axis and Wolf? What's the difference in thickness to your guys hands, substantial?

i measured my friends neck with a digital caliper, again i didnt get it digitized.im a tool and diemaker by trade,so im sure my numbers are very close, prob not perfect but close enough..the wolfgang i had seemed thinner on the thickness but i never did measure it..so i cant say for sure.

I like the feeling of the EVH EBMM much more than the PV Wolf.

I had my main EBMM refretted with the Wolfgang's Dunlop 6105s, and re-radiused to be flatter.

In other words, I like the fret height & flat radius of the Wolf, as well as the fretboard width & string spacing, but like the feel of the back of the EBMM, as well as their fret work, rolled edges, headstock, body shape, and quilt top.

I own one Axis and one Axis Super Sport.

Visually, I think of my preference like this: if I could wedge the Peavey's neck between the EBMM's headstock and body, and then send it to San Luis Obispo to have them finish the frets, and fingerboard edges, and save me the trouble of wiping it down with gunstock oil & wax, I'd do it!

Overall, though, I like both necks, and would probably like Fender's Wolfgang neck as well.

The fretboard radius of the EBMM is listed as 10", but some feel it's actually a stitch rounder than that.

I couldn't agree more! Although I do also like the back profile of the wolfgang a lot. But I definitely want to try making a neck to Wolfgang specs, but with the music man profile. That would be amazing.

    I have a 1992 EBMM and a 1996 PV Wolf.
Love everything about the EBMM, like the contoured body on the wolf but hate the feeling of the neck.

I think a EBMM neck on a wolf would rock!

yeah me too, the board was too flat for me on the wolf, but then again i'm a classic fender guy so anything over 7 1/2 inches feels alien!
