    Default Peavey Wolfgang Tuners

Has anyone here swapped out the chrome set of tuners on a Peavey Wolfgang Special USA for the Schaller tuners on a Standard USA? If so, was it an easy swap? Thanks in advance AT.

I did it and it was pretty much a direct swap. The Schallers have a tiny screw to drill for though. You can make a couple of light marks with a pencil on the OG tuners before you remove them to get the exact same positioning.
    She's a ho, fo' sho'.

The drill holes are the exact same size, so it's an easy switch. The original Peavey chrome tuners have a single mounting hole that will be covered by the new tuners, and you will have to drill for the mounting screws on the Schallers. The G-B-E side will require some measuring to keep straight; they aren't mounted parallel to that side of the headstock, unlike the low side.

I've never replaced the chrome tuners on a Wolfgang Special because I think they're great--never had any tuning stability issues with them nor any durability issues. And, if you like the look of the pearloid or ivoroid tuner buttons, the Schaller ones will fit on the chrome Peaveys.

I've never been able to determine who makes the chrome Peavey tuners (they've been used on other Peavey guitars). I'm 99% certain the tremolo is Ping (because there is a Ping logo on the sustain block and also spring claw, and I've bought identical trems being sold as Ping), but I'm not sure if the tuners are Ping or something else (Gotoh is my best guess).

Nah... not on the USA Wolf Specials. The Grover talk comes from Peavey having used Grovers on the EXP. (Grover tuners are now made in Korea, the Wolfgang Special EXP was made in Korea--makes sense.)
