Any fans of the band The Roots?

I have been downloading some of their stuff lately. Good stuff!!

I looked for a thread on these guys but came up with nothing.

I've enjoyed a lot of their singles. I don't know if you knew they are now the house band on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

I like The Roots, even seeing them in concert. I'm a little disappointed they're the house band on Jimmy Fallon for a couple reasons. First, I just don't see them as a house band that's going to be effective at playing different types of music on the show...I think Letterman's and Conan's are so much more suited and geared to that particular gig. Yes, I know Fallon was going for something different, but to me, it just doesn't work.

Second (and this is really nothing against The Roots), I just don't care for Jimmy Fallon at all. The guy really wasn't that great on SNL (appearing to me to be a Sandler wannabe), and his show is pretty terrible.

Moral of the story: The Roots would be better suited elsewhere.

I did know that they are the house band, it does seem a bit odd.

I like the music though, yes The Seed is a classic song.
