It sounds like Blackmore Jr can play but I dont think I would go because Ritchie and Cozy were special to me in that band. I hear Ritchie got married to Candice so he will be sticking to his Renaissance band ? Maybe he will jam with Jr one night.

Joe Lynn Turner talks about the first Over The Rainbow tour and says, "We rehearsed a lot in the hotel rooms so there really was no down time. We taped performances every night then went over each one and critiqued ourselves."

The only Blackmore I care about is Ritchie. This project/tour is just lame as far as I'm concerned.

If Ritchie was involved, then that would be an entire other story...
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

A guy could make maybe $600 a week playing in a band like that. For the summer, anyway, but then it's back to third shift on the loading dock, boys!

The talked about this on the last That Metal Show.

They supposedly hired the kid Blackmore sight unseen and sound unheard.

Kind of a bonus that he can actually play!

NOt really interested in this as I wasn't a huge Rainbow fan to begin with, but good for them that they get to go out and play, as Ritchie has absolutely zero interest in playing rock music anymore.

His renaissance stuff is actually pretty good if you like that kind of stuff.

I can only take it in small doses, but it is good.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Turner's been forming "almost rainbow" bands that never do anything for a few years now, looks like this one's got off the ground.
