Default The first new song for VH?

Every once in a while, I like to check out ASCAP since you can see which songs are written by who. So in an effort to see if there was any new song writing by Eddie, Alex and Dave (with Wolfie of course), I stumbled onto this:

JUMP TO THE BEAT (Title Code: 400224735)
    Writers:
    FERRI RICCARDO
    PICOTTO MAURO
    PIPERNO MARIO
    ROTH DAVID LEE
    VAN HALEN ALEX
    VAN HALEN EDWARD

    Performers:
    (none found)

    Variations:
    (none found)

    Publishers/Administrators:
    DIAMOND DAVE MUSIC
% RED STRIPE PLANE MUSIC LLC
    11336 CAMARILLO ST. #310
WEST TOLUCA LAKE , CA, 91602
    Tel. (818) 763-8300

    VAN HALEN MUSIC
    % WB MUSIC CORP
    % WARNER CHAPPELL MUSIC INC
    10585 SANTA MONICA BLVD
    LOS ANGELES , CA, 90025
    Tel. (310) 441-8600

Contact ASCAP Clearance representative at (212)621-6160
    for other publisher information.

Could this be the first of the new songs being written for the next tentative album?

Sounds like a latin rap band crediting the Bros and Dave, having the word 'Jump' in the title makes me think this could be the case. All these dumb ass bands rip off an old tune and sing inane crap over the top.

    Just a guess anyway.

The Warner association makes me wonder how legit this really is....not like VH and WB were on good terms after VHIII.

The Best of Both Worlds went Platinum reaffirming that VH3 had not turned away listeners and showed the band still can move albums.

More than likely a remix. Found this about one of the guys.

Mauro Picotto (born December 25, 1966, Cavour, Italy) is an Italian electronic music musician. Previously a member of the Italian rave outfit, Cappella, he became well-known as a solo artist with techno-trance tracks including "Komodo" (2000), "Pulsar" (2001, with new mixes in 2002) and most famously for "Lizard" (1999, remixed in 2000). He has collaborated with other techno-trance musicians such as TiŽsto and Mario Piý.

He now promotes his own techno club night, Meganite (named after an early 21st century track of his), which has run for consectutive years annually since 2005 at Privilege Ibiza. He now produces under his own record label, Bakerloo.

I remember looking in 2000 on ASCAP for the new music. So I understand how you feel when you come up with something that looks new!

But I don't think this is it. Not yet.

I would think any new song would have Wolf's name on it for sure.

Hopefully in a few more months something will turn up

It seems very unlikely that they would file something with ASCAP for ONE song for a tentative album.

A "Jump" remix seems a more reasonable guess.
Sings like a bird. Rocks like a pig.

And a good one. By performing some casual research (simply looking up a few key words), one can find this:

    Pretty much confirms the theory.

It really isn't very hard to get the rights to cover most tunes.

Didn't do any research so not sure if that is a big time act or just some limited pressing by a local band. Small pressing runs of covers don't cost much either in regards to royalties as well.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

If this was new, you can bet EVH would make sure Wolfgang is a credited writer.

I've heard an excellent Jump remix in a club before.

    Unfortunately you're probably right...
ďAnd what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever Ė that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both Ė thatís intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.Ē - David Lee Roth
