Ed's BEST solo in a song with lyrics EVER! Better times....

And LIVE it's just....takes the words right out of my mouth!

    Thanks James for posting this

My God. My God. That has always been one of the most under-rated Van Halen songs and a "hidden gem". But I never thought it was played live.

I wish there was a better audio recording, as I bet this sounding amazing in person.

I can't believe how Ed pulls it off. When I heard that solo on CD, I thought -- WOW. But that he could never pull it off live.

It continues to amaze me how pretty much Ed can sound as good live as he does on the record. And in many cases, the live work is even better.

He is an amazing talent, and makes it look so effortless yet passionate at the same time. No other guitarist can match his combination of songwriting, melodies, chops, phrasing, stage presence, etc. He is a Rock Star in every sense of the word, and one of the true guitar geniuses in the world today.

At least that's what they would have said back in 1995. :-)

Look for the Toronto PPV version or the Osaka Japan version. Great quality.

You know what though? This is probably the most poorly dressed band ever. You got Sammy doing his best Tony Little impersonation, Al who looks like a samurai, Mike and Ed look like they just stumbled out of a trailer park....especially Mike with that awful cut up tank top/t-shirt thing and his mullet. Obviously the music is what matters most but jeez!

yeah they went from dressing like a bunch of drag queens and circus clowns to look like trailer trash...I can't think of another group that has consistently dressed as poorly as these guys!

They did look pretty good during the VHIII tour...all their press shots and tour, they looked good.

    ?

I seem to remember Eddie wearing a beret or a joker hat and fingerless gloves at certain press events. And someone please find and post that picture of Ed wearing a purple wife-beater, purple sweats, and playing a purple guitar!... Very "Barney"...

The publicity pro-shot pics looked good, but those were always done well over the years

There - I just got all Mr. Blackwell on yer ass!

I do remember fingerless gloves and a beret. Most of the times I saw him on stage he was wearing slacks, a white tank top and suspenders. He looked good...pulled it off. It's funny because Gary used to wear basically the same outfit during the III Sides tour. hahahha...Gary looked very classy in his black suits. I just thought it was a very professional, mature look for them to have.

The pro press shots for Balance were pretty good to...but damn, as soon as they took the stage..man...they looked liked an aerobics instructor, a rejected extra from a bad kung fu movie and trailer trash.
    Stay out of it, dude.

    I am Van Halen.
