Default Damn... this is one lucky man!!

A 32-year-old man has survived with minor injuries after being hit by a flat-bed truck that was rammed by a train in Turkey.

CCTV footage shows Cem Tokac disappear under the wheels of the truck as it collides with the train.

Mr Tokac has said he remembers nothing of the incident and that life is 'beautiful'.

He's damn lucky those containers didn't crush him. Those things are solid metal and steel. Not aluminum, like most trailers.

A month ago, I was sliding tandems on my trailer, lost my grip and balance, slammed my back in to a container trailer next to me. No give at all. I was down for about 15 minutes, wind knocked out of me.

That's just crazy! Some people are just damn lucky I guess. Or maybe they have a little help.

Something similar to this happened to a good friend of mine (incidentally, he named his son "Halen." Swear to God). He was driving too fast on a wet road one Halloween morning. Ahead of him, the road took a 90-degree turn, where an 18-wheeler was turning towards him. As he applied the brakes but began to hydroplane. He was heading towards the back of the truck with no way of slowing or turning. At the last second, he lay down in the front seat. He slammed into the back of the truck and the entire top of the car was ripped off. His only injury was when the windshield exploded and the mirror hit him in the forehead -- it was a small cut.

The funny thing was that he was jamming DLR's "Eat 'em and Smile." After the crash, he looked up and saw the bottom of the truck. Happy to be alive, he turned off his tape player and climbed out what had been the window. When the police arrived, they were amazed that he was alive, let alone uninjured.

That was insane...saw the clip on TV yesterday.

I had a buddy who was speeding down a dark road between Clear Lake and Pasadena TX...it was late at night after he'd been to a concert at some club. He was all juiced up banging his head to some metal and he leaned down to get a cd from the floor of the car. he lost control, the car hit the cub, flipped and wrapped itself around a tree. Someone called the cops and amulance and when they showed up they found him sitting on the curb smoking a cigarette. The EMT says "man, I've seen wrecks HALF that bad where people died instantly. You should be thanking Jesus you're still alive." My buddy says "jesus...shit, I'm thanking my fucking seatbelt." He then stood up, flicked his cigarette on the ground and began to walk towards the wreck. He fell flat on his face unconscious so they rushed him to the hospital. He had a massive concussion...i guess adrenaline kept him going...or maybe his comment rubbed the wrong guy the wrong way. heeheehee

I had exactly the same experience. Bad, bad wreck, and the police arrived. My friend had gone through the windscreen and was married to a tree, and I was stuck under the engine of a ford capri, trapped between the front two seats. Apparently two female police officers got to me and saw I was conscious (sort of) because i said to them "Hello, are you hippies?" (so they later told me)

I have no recollection of anything of that day, or indeed, of the following two (little bit of a whack on the old head), but apparently in the ambulance I was jabbering away like a talk show host (lot's of words, very little substance) until we got to the hospital when I suddenly decided to go unconscious. Whilst standing. And then stay there.

Adrenaline will get you only so far, but it's quite a distance when you are actually in coma.

    aaaaaaahhhhh, good times.
