Ok! Now that we have the foundation of what VH is for the foreseeable future, which direction do you think the band will take as far as new music? Do you think it will pick up where it left off with Dave in '84? Go back a few steps with how they were with Dave on say Fair Warning? Or will they just march forward with something all together different? Ed's playing a hell of alot better, seems to be enjoying himself, and has quit riding that damn Sustainer crutch. Dave's voice is better than we've heard for a long time. He's gained some humility, or so it would seem. Alex, Well Alex will always be Alex. Wolfie although inexperienced comparitively, is young, and could bring some stuff to the table they might not have thought of. Anyway, let's hear everyones two cents. Personally I'd like to hear the level of creativity from the Fair Warning era. Some real cool shit on that record.

    We won't hear anything.

If we do, it's going to be in the experimental vein on VH3, just with Dave singing.

I used to say the same thing about the reunion, such as it was with Dave. I also never thought I'd see Sam come back, but I knew with the first review of the tour it was gonna be an abortion. There is a much better vibe these days, and they ar'ent in the same little approved PR media bubble they were the past number of years. I'm somewhat optamistic.

I can't believe even Eddie would be so daft as to try the VHIII route again.

The FIRST review of the 2004 Tour was 100% POSITIVE.

There was also a feeling during THAT tour....a feeling that I couldn't describe.

The months leading up to the announcement. The rumours during that time. And then, on March 20th they posted the NEW picture of the boys at the website.

There was NONE of that leading up to the 2007 Tour with Dave. Maybe because of all the bullshit surrounding it. But to be honest...walking into that show didn't feel any different than going to ANY other rock concert I have been to.

    But 2004 it felt different.

His quote in Rolling Stone or wherever it was from suggested it.

It'll be different kinds of experimentation than VH3. But in the end, it'll be more similar than I'm sure he'd like to realize.

Bingo. I have a feeling that all the talking Ed is doing now has more to do with the fact that he has a new line of gear to pimp. So, naturally, the question about new music comes up and what's he going to do, say there are no plans for anything in the future?

Not to mention, a few new songs to hold us over a couple months until the tour officially began!

What a year 2004 was for me personally and as a Van Halen fan.

And this folks, is POST #5150! Do I win anything?

The review I read said it was a disapointment, and that alot of what Eddie was playing was unrecognizable from how they used to be played. I'm just refering to the first review I saw in the press. It was from a snooty Canadian perspective. I can say that...I'm Canadian, but I remember feeling quite skeptical about the reunion. It did'nt deteur me from wanting to see them, of coarse, but from that first review It did'nt feel the same way. And as it turned out the shows got progressively worse. It was a bummer.

Sam was back, for a second go around as the go to guy.

Dave is nice and quiet right now, changing all the locks, and making damn sure that the go to guy never gets back in... again.

Great music is built around such deeds.

This is why I like Van Halen

My hope for VHIV is that while the Van Halens are attending family functions until late summer '09, David Lee Roth is also attending to his private affairs, exorcising regularly, and creating numerous melodies on an acoustic guitar that is always within arms reach.

I'll also take the time here to wish the Chickenfoot project all the best.

The world still needs new music from the old guard.

I'm assuming you mean "exercising." I'm not being a grammatical nit-picker or the Spelling Police here, but I've never known DLR to cast out a demon.
