Default CSNY Hitting The Road This Summer

    from www.billboard.com:

    Ray Waddell, Nashville

An announcement is expected today (April 24) regarding this summer's Crosby Stills Nash & Young Freedom of Speech tour, Billboard.com has learned. The 35-date tour, promoted by The Next Adventure, will begin July 6 at the Tweeter Center near Philadelphia, and run through Sept. 10 in at the Post-Gazette Pavilion in Burgettstown, Pa.

Neil Young will be touring in support of two albums: his 2005 acoustic set "Prairie Wind" and a politically charged rock album, "Living With War," which will begin streaming Friday for free on his Web site.

There had been speculation that Young might tour with his rock band Crazy Horse this year, but a CSNY tour is always welcome, according to TNA President Arthur Fogel. "They've been talking about doing this on and off for a while, but it's up to them when the stars all align and they decide to do it," Fogel tells Billboard.com. " It has been four years since they've gone out, and this is one of those things [where] when you get them all together, it's pretty magical."

Ticket prices will be "pretty similar to last time," Fogel says, and will top out in $175-$250, depending on the market. Lawn and upper-tier arena tickets will be in the $30-$35 range. There will be a fanclub pre-sale later this week, and tickets will go on sale to the general public this weekend.

CSNY last toured in 2002, grossing more than $35 million, ninth best for the year. The CSNY2K tour in 2000, the group's first as a foursome in 20 years, grossed $42 million.

    "Suck a fat one, faggot."
-MikeL, showing off that sharp wit of his.

"You may recognize some of these chemicals. Let's start with cyanide...The one the Aum Shinrikyo cult attempted to use to commit mass murder in a Tokyo subway in May 1995...The same cyanide produced routinely--1.4 million tons per year--for use in the production of plastics, adhesives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and so on. It seems that those who put small amounts of cyanide in subways are terrorists. But those who produce it in mass quantities and contaminate broad reaches of soil, water, and air, killing countless living beings, are not terrorists, but rather capitalists, and are counted among the finest and most powerful people on the planet."

This was the closest thing I could find to a CSN(Y) thread around here.

Anyway, happened across this little rarity. Check out this very 80's piece of "soundtrack rock" CSN recorded for the flick "WarGames". The song was ultimately cut from the film despite the video making a short run on MTV. It is only found on a now out-of-print album called "Allies".

I remember the "Allies" album, in fact picked up the record for around a $1.99 or less in a cut-out bin at Peaches. All in all, it was a fairly crummy live record, with some really odd choices of material (like including this track along with a Beatles cover). If I recall correctly, the album opened with this song.

Yeah....it opened with the "War Games" song. I researched the disc and it just kinda seemed to be all over the place and very VERY short for a "live" album.

Bit off topic, but I find WarGames to be the best of all the terrible computer movies from that era.

CSNY: Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young Thread

I found an unreleased version of Dear Mr Fantasy as recorded by CSN. And to my surprise there was no CSNY thread to post it in. These musical genuises and RRHFs deserve their own thread.

    Enjoy

Jimmy Buffett does a pretty good cover of Southern Cross.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!
