Default Which Sam era tour would you choose overall?

I have to take Balance, 'cause I personally think I never saw Ed play better with Sam. Maybe it was 'cause of his hip, or maybe it was just a good night, or maybe it was just the Balance tuneage that I was diggin', I dunno.

But ya know what gets overlooked the most? The OU812 tour leg AFTER Monsters of Rock. I caught one of those gigs at the San Diego Sports Arena. Great show.

I saw 5150 twice, OU812 once, and FUCK once.

All of them were stellar and I don't have a single complaint about any. I voted for OU812 because they were the best seats I had but I really could have picked any of the three. What was special about 5150 was the newness and excitement surrounding the band at that time and the curious expectations of how they would move on without Dave. Those shows were sick.

VH with Gary ('98) - Fucking disaster. WTF was that??
VH with Wolf/Dave ('12-'15) - Amazing comeback. Smokin' album and tours.

Its Balance for 4 me also!! They came thru Dallas twice on that tour, i saw both shows and they were both different shows, they changed up the setlist a little bit also, and changed the song order too, i like when bands do that

My first VH show was Nov 5th 1988 in Lincoln ,NE.
I was 14 years old and it was awesome!!!

Saw them in 1991/1992/1995/2004 also but for me the best shows ive seen were the 1993 RHRN shows.

Somthing about thoes shows were the best for me!

I only saw them on Balance. I'm not even gonna count the 5 shows in 04 I saw.

They sounded great on the Balance tour. Used my student loan to travel to 3 show as they didn't stop in my hometown. Having front row in Vancouver was the icing on the cake.

the best show I've ever seen by any band is the RHRN show I saw at Pine Knob...they kicked so much ass that night it was incredible, the show they did at the same venue in 95 is probably second, they weren't that great on the first leg of the balance tour but when they came back around they were on fire in the summer......

that said I picked the OU812 Tour as the show I'd choose to see, not the MOR but the one after for a couple of reasons, I've always wanted to see ed play keyboards live in person (my parents wouldnt' let me go to the 5150 and OU812 shows ) , they were still doing alot of my favorite early sammy era songs like summer nights, 5150, AFU and Mine all Mine and I think the 89 Japan show is just plain old bad ass.

Said it before and Ill say again....Balance blew me away. That was the peak of VanHagar

gonna piss some people off now

Balance in my opinion was crap. Granted, I didn't see the tour. Shitty sound (album wise) etc. I was @ the 5150 tour and FUCK.
5150 was super and FUCK was good. By the time VH got to Balance I was hanging by a thread. I grew up on VH 1 and all the greatness that followed with the original group. I'm not ragging on Sam in anyway. I loved 5150, but for my $$ Balance was a "whatever" LP.
Let the shit storm begin........... but, FUCK was the last decent thing my fav group has completed.

I would have to agree with you on this one. I saw them on FUCK and Balance and Balance seemed kinda fake( with the exception of Alex and the drum solo) The drum solo was by far the best thing on that tour.

The Fuck tour I thought kicked major ass! The crowd was way more into it and the music was more powerfull and raw.

having said that I think Baluchithirium( how do you spell it) on Balance is Eddies most underated piece of music. Incredibly powerful!!

I was never the biggest fan of the Hagar years but 5150 gets my vote. Saw them during Balance, RHRN, and Monster of Rock (IMO, Metallica blew everyone off the stage that day). All good VH shows but 5150 had a unique quality to it. It was a great show but also it was great to see the band functioning live after the drama following DLR's departure.

    5150 for me as well.

The energy of that show was incredible.

OU812 I thought the Scorps were much better, but I may have been wiped by the time VH got on.

FUCK, Sam was sick the night I saw them, so they just didn't sound good and I didn't like the set list for that tour, too much off of FUCK which I thought was not a great effort.

Balance they sounded great, but it felt like I went to a RUSH show. Nothing wrong with that, just not used to seeing that from VH.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

my vote went to Balance..i saw three shows on that tour, one in front row and it was a great show. That said, the RHRN tour for me was right up there as well...still remember them opening the show with that slow thumping heart beat that sped up and launched into Mine All Mine...best show opening of any tour i've seen imo.
...and in the end, on dreams we will depend...

Balance, because of the setlist variety, not to mention performances were just stellar. RHRN follows, then OU812/MOR.
