Default Alarmingly Clear Footage Of "It's About Time", Meadowlands 2004

More than likely clipped from the video screen feeds, this vid offers some interesting "in your face" perspective of the group in 2004. The performance itself isn't all that bad, yet you'd be hard pressed to tell from the dismal sound quality.

I have this on DVD. It was recorded by a fan off the screen (you can tell because by Unchained, Ed's skin starts to "glow" from his sweat, which I believe is a cause from the brightness settings of the filmer's camera and the feed from the screen. That's just a guess.

I also know it's fan shot because when the show starts on You Really Got Me, the filmer is zoomed out of the screen and has to set up, and doesn't really get his camera even with the screen until Poundcake (though it's very steady, and about 95% covered with the exception of an opening on the bottom left-hand corner).

Still, it's a great recording. Waiting for a better audio source to sync this up with, possibly the best video from the 2004 tour outside of Worcester and maybe Ames.

Thats the best show I've heard from 2004, wonder if there is a good boot or even a SB 4 that show. A whole vid would be nice also.

Would've been great to have had the Ed of 2008 on the 2004 tour. It would've smoked!!!

Maybe not at the start of the show (I was there too, 10th row). But as the night wore on his playing got progressively worse. Later on he fucked up big time. I forget which song it was on, but it was painfully obvious and Sammy looked at him and said,"What the fuck was that?". He was smiling, but he did not mean it in a good way. And I don't blame him..

Why am I thinking it was BOBW? I haven't watched my 2004 boots in awhile but I remember there was one show where he had a colossal fuck-up on that song.

I think that may have been it. I remember thinking: this is not good, it's too early in the tour for this shit. Wasn't that also the same song where the three of them sat down on Al's drum riser mid-song? I'm paraphrasing, but Sam made a crack about how it was like old times and they were partying backstage before the show. Ed shot him a look and he quickly corrected himself by saying he and Mike were partying backstage before the show. It was an akward moment and it seemed like Ed wanted Sam to go along with the bullshit story that he was on the wagon.

Yep, that's it. I wasn't there, but I remember watching the show last year thinking "Wow, this is just...weird "

They played two nights in the Meadowlands and I believe you're referencing the first. Ed was pretty bad in the first, but in the second show Ed was good throughout the whole thing. Perhaps that's where the confusion in the posts came from?

I have this DVD too. It starts with the guy showing his ticket and then the outside of Continental Arena.
And yes Ed was definately wasted by the end of the show.
    Good Bootleg though.

That makes sense. It was the first night and I remember being pissed for not having gone both nights, after I heard that Ed was in much better shape on the second night. What made it worse was that my best friend is also a big fan, but never got to see them live. He'd just decided to get a divorce, so I bought him a ticket to cheer him up. So as a veteran of countless VH shows, none of which was bad, I'm all psyched for him to see them for the first time - especially considering what he was going through. And, of course, we know how that turned out...

To make matters worse we decided to head down to Atlantic City when they came back around in September, figuring it might be our only chance to ever see them again and that they had all the early-tour kinks worked out (a.k.a., please, Ed, stay off the whatever it is you're doing until at least after the show). Of course, 2.5 hours in the car, overpriced room at the casino and??? You guessed it, yet another mediocre performace by Ed. Good times...

The only consolation is that we go to see Sam whenever he comes around, especially outside in the summer, and it's always a good show (at the very least) and, more importantly, a good time. People can slam Sam for whatever they want, but you cannot deny the guy's consistent level of professionalism.

I was listening to IAT earlier this week and I really, really dug it....I loved it when I first heard just cause it wass a "new" van halen song...then I didn't really like it cause I bought inot all the shit people were saying about it on this site...now I'm starting to like it again, there's a couple parts where the magic pops up, it might be only for a second or 2 but it was there and it's not as great as it once was but it is growing on me again...

I still think LTS is an awsome song no matter how many people rag on it.

I saw them at Phillips Arena in 04 and they were great no problems at all.
