    Default Is OLP anygood?

I was at GC in Atlanta earlier and played a OLP MM1 and was actyally inpressed. Tempted to buy it and put a Floyd on it. Especially for 120. What wood are these things?

YES! OLP's are great (sorry again AT hehehe). Just make sure the neck is generally straight (not twisted side to side) and the frets are pretty level. If so, putting a floyd on it and setting it up correctly will make it a VERY great playing guitar.

Was it an old logo or new logo version OLP?

The body is solid basswood, and some have a veneer maple top. The necks are hard rock maple. I've done 2 MM1 'conversions' where I put floyds on them. Let me know if you have questions.

I bought an OLPMM1F and love it - it was a Funky Munky music special with Rockfield pickups and an original Floyd Rose fitted. It plays great and sounds great also - better than any other guitar I've played in that price range. If I had more money i would buy a couple more just to have around the house. I guess the original EBMM (I've got one also) is a great design, even a licenced cheap copy is going to have a head start.

I use them (with Floyds and pickup mods) as my main guitars.

They're quality instruments once you upgrade certain parts. I'm not afraid to knock them around, either. They're just cool guitars. A friend of mine has an EBMM Axis and he describes my #1 as a great playing and sounding guitar.

It looked like a newer one. It was Amber and for 120 bucks it was hard as hell not to walk out with it(girlfriend was with me ). Next time she might not be.

very cool guitars. Among the best you can find within a hundred bucks or so of that price. I'd like to have one myself. They make that double neck that I've been very tempted to buy over the past year or two. Sooner or later it's coming home with me.

    For $120 ... grab it!
They're not making them anymore and I seriously doubt you're going to find the new "Sterling" in that price range.

Oh.... amber.... ... you gotta get it!

Here's my amber one. The first pic is before I drilled the Floyd post holes.

Once you get it, put a Zebra Tone Zone in the bridge and you'll be good to go. The stock neck pickup is ok-ish... if you want to swap it, get an Air Norton. Those pickups will get your OLP VERY close to an Axis.

Alrighty. I bought it. Plays real sweet through my 5150II. Now I just need a original floyd, 2 dimarzios and a hell of a good luthier. On a side note, anyone know where to get the schallers with abalone pegs? That would be a nice touch.

    Congrats!

OLP's are fun guitars to mod.
