Default Hetfield References VH RE: RRHOF Induction

    http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/bla...sitemID=112477

"Q: James, you mentioned that you'd like Jason [Newsted; former METALLICA bassist] to accompany you guys, or be there, at the induction ceremony. Have you reached out to him?

James Hetfield: Yes, there's been contact with him, for sure.

Q: And what was his response?

James Hetfield: I haven't heard exactly what his response was, but there's been an invite put out, no doubt. I mean, the fact that we're relevant today, we're being inducted, we've got an album that's doing really good, there's Grammy nominations, AND we're being inducted into the Hall of Fame?! At that point, it's unbelievable. And we're in a good space. We want everyone to celebrate that fact — everyone who's been a part of it. Jason has been a big part of that. You don't want to see the drama of a… unfortunately, BLONDIE or PISTOLS or VAN HALEN. It's ridiculous. This is METALLICA's moment — along with others — but let's celebrate. Let's forget the crap… [Let's] invite whoever wants to be part of it. Have a party with all the people who have been there."

Just great! My favorite band is even more dysfunctional than Metallica - a band that has it's own therapist!

Metallica sucks anyway, at least after the Black album. I lost all respect for them after their documentary and the Napster debacle.

Werd. And Dave is smarter, funnier, and a better guitar player than either James or Kirk.

That said, I don't think Mustaine should be part of it. He wasn't around but for two years or so, and wasn't a big part of their mainstream popularity.

Does Dave even speak to those guys anymore? If he does, I'm sure he'll get a shout-out in the speech from the guys.

Wasn't he in the SKOM vid with the Therapist? I think he still harbors quite a bit of resentment....

I would still agree that they give him a shout. Or perhaps an expletive.

Too bad he can't sing. That's my biggest beef with Megadeth. I really have to try hard to get over the singing and sometimes I just can't.

Also....James, Lars, and Kirk must know what they're doing. Even back in the 80's they were more popular than Megadeth ever was. And Megadeth was only popular for a specific stretch of albums. That's part of the resentment Dave has for Metallica.

You know James is right. I think hes a certified nutcase(watch the documentary) as most rockers seem to be but hes right.Even though the RRHOF is a joke in itself, when a supergroup gets in all the living x members of the band should be there. It was a sad night not to see the Bros, DLR and
Cherone, not to mention Velvet Revolver butchering a song that should have been a massive jam by VanHalen.
EVH 1979: Well, actually it's not much of a vacation, because we run everything ourselves. We design our own album cover, we have to be in the office every day to sign checks - the whole corporation revolves around us. Nothing can be done without our approval. We even have photo approval.
