The thing that irritates me is the idea of adding keyboards to HFT - blasphemy.
Vai does a pretty good job on six strings, except for the solo. Roth is quite solid on vocals, more so even than during the 07-08 tour (that some claim is his best ever performance - please).
Greg Bisonette is really out of his element here, he's the one damaging the song. He's a good drummer but you can tell this is totally not his stye of music.

Too bad Alex couldn't do the FULL intro. That was ONE thing I was dying to hear on the last tour.

Vai is a great guitarist, but he does not have that same feel that Eddie does even to this day. Ed can play someone else's shit and make it sound like his own.
Yes, the drumming by Bissonette wasn't Alex.

Back then Dave wanted to be creative on his own so he brought in some very good musicians, later on in the 90's and early 2000's he was a traveleing VH tribute act so he brought in tribute band musicians.
'Old Van Halen, when I was in it-classic Van Halen-makes you wanna drink, dance and screw, right? And the new Van Halen encourages you to drink milk, drive a Nissan and have a relationship.' - David Lee Roth.
