time to throw away your floyd rose???

many of us use floyds either floating of non-floating, and when they are set up correctly they are great, and good fun aswell. but have any of you guys had the problem of bending 1 string and all the others go flat? plus they are a pain to re-string and set up correctly, infact they can be quite a burden when thay aren't set up quite right.
well i was searching for a solution and came accorss something called "The Tremlogic" its basically a bridge similar to a floyd exept its non-lockig but also has the unique ability to alter the pitch of individual strings i.e. push you E flat while bending the B up!

heres the links to the websites, check out the video's (they're pretty cool)

i dunno if they will catch on, but it certainly seems like a fun inovation, well perhaps more fun than the D2H!

Hi mate - it's never bothered me about the Floyd when strings go...I tend to set them as non-floating so that if it goes in a gig I can snip, pull though and re-attach and tune in literally a couple of minutes.......obviously strings start to feel a bit crap if you don't change them for a while - but if you use the new'coated' strings - they feel new for an age....

My Petrucci has a standard type trem with locking tuners and it stays in tune amazingly well.....took it out it's case on Saturday after my gig on Friday and it was bang in tune......great trem - but floating so takes a while to tune...
Ed: Actually, the last record I bought was by a band called Brand X
Al: I make my living by viciously attacking something
    Mike: ...actually I don't drink.
    Sammy: Are these yours Eddie?
Dave: Look at that ankle - dirty girl!

Looks like a cracking innovation. I don't know that I would end up with one, however. I love a Floyd when working properly and set up perfect. Hte them when they don't work, however.

I could see this being a bit fiddly for my taste. But if you have been burnt by a Floyd, I could see how this devise appeals...
Dammit!!! I still smell like cotton candy!!!

The first guitarist I thought of was Jeff Beck and how he uses the heel of his hand on a floating bridge for that agressive vibrato effect. My only concern would be how it takes your hand out of a natural picking position, meaning you'd have to interrupt you playing to use it - it would be harder to organically integrate the technique into your style. But a very interesting device.

    I agree!
I could see messing around with that for a little while then getting board of it.
That song on the promo video was very annoying to me.

I think the fact that it is nearly 700 dollars will keep some people away, too!

i agree the price is quite high, but i quite like the idea of being able to raise and lower the pitch on diferent strings at the same time, i would love to hear what people like alan holdsworth could come up with and i bet ed coul put it to good use. and personaly i think it shows more imagination than the D2H, certainly better execution.
