I think that's a very true statement... I almost think "interesting" could be replaced with "scary" for a lot of teams, employees, governing bodies, etc...

Anyways, getting away from the politics and financial bullshit, F1 should be probably the most interesting from a racing/rules standpoint because they are drastically different and we may see someone other than Ferrari and McLaren competing for the Championship and race wins... I know BMW made strides as well as Renault, but they weren't true contenders last year...

I'm interested to see what Brian France and Co. do if they have less than 43 cup cars in an event this year. What will the corporate speak be???

Hopefully the competition will be fierce and the stories will center around the drivers, teams, and races rather than who's going broke or not gonna show up this week or the rest of the year...

BTW, is NHRA staying at 1000 feet or are they working to race at 1/4 mile again???

I do not think France will do anything. I truly think he is that blind to the situation at hand. I also dont think he is willing to budge on much of anything, as far as he is concerned Nascar is his toy.

I am not completely bashing Brian France, I do think he has made some good moves. The car of tomorrow is a very safe car, or at least safer than the last car, safer barriers, etc etc etc.

NHRA is going back to a 1/4 mile. I think what you will see this year in NASCAR will be regional racers trying to get into races with the backing of some bigger teams. With the COT in only it's second full year will probably give an some up and comer a chance to race and a chance to try some different things on the cars due to the testing restrictions. I'll be intrested to see the corporate presence at the tracks with the giveaways, tents, displays.

Racing hasn't been "interesting" since these things ran.

I have to believe a lot of the moves made by Brian and his sister, Lesa, would not have been made by their father or by Big Bill France. Those men worked NASCAR to where it was, did the grunt work, posting promotional posters up themselves...essentially, they were self made men. Brian has likely had little time interacting with fans when compared to his father and grandfather, something both of those men did on a regular basis. It's hard to stay in touch with your fanbase when you're always in a 3 piece suit and up in timing and scoring.

Jungle Jim was a cool dude.
My brother took me to his house when I was like, 11. He lived close by.
Real neet guy. Serious beer drinker. His girl Pam was smokin hot. Nice rack.
This car was on a trailer all burnt up. Smacked it into a guard rail the weekend before.

And now, just 'cause I'm kinda bored and dealing with a slow computer on the other side of my desk, I present some quotes from "Days Of Thunder: 2009"

Harry Hogge: Cole, you're wandering all over the track!
Cole Trickle: Yeah, well this son of a bitch just slammed into me.
Harry Hogge: No, no, he didn't slam you, he didn't nudge you... he *bump drafted* you. And bump draftin', son, is racin'.

Harry Hogge: What do you know about stock car racing?
Cole Trickle: Well... played it on television, of course.
Harry Hogge: You've played it on television?
Cole Trickle: PlayStation 3. The graphics are excellent, you'd be surprised at how much you can pick up.
Harry Hogge: I'm sure I would

Little Brian: If you two wanna turn yourselves into a greasy spot out on a country road somewhere, go right ahead. I don't give a shit and I don't think anybody else does, but you two monkeys are not going to do it on my racetrack. You trade paint one more time, you so much as even mention each other in the post race interview, I'm gonna put you on probation for four races. Now, just to show there's no hard feelings we're all gonna go to dinner together.
Cole Trickle: Well, I've got other plans.
Rowdy Burns: Yeah, so do I!
Little Brian: Well, you're gonna have to change them. And not only that you two are gonna do "Wind Tunnel" together.

Cole Trickle: What'd you win this one for?
    [Points to a trophy]
Cole Trickle: This one right here, what'd win this for?
    Rowdy Burns: Doesn't it say?
Cole Trickle: Yeah, that's a Winston Cup, buddy. Oh, wait, no - it's a Nextel Cup...nevermind - Sprint Cup. Hell, ok, er tougher question than I thought. Here's an easy one, I think. What's your name, or has that slipped your mind too?
    Rowdy Burns: Screw you, man.
