Default first act delay and Toys r Us

So I have a 6month year old son that is always keeping a beat with his hands (he basically just taps his hands on everything) As a guitarist, I'm hoping this is a sign of things to come...imagine being able to jam with my son in 8 years or so with drums and guitar...

So while doing some shopping today, I'm in Toys R us, which i have not stepped into since I was probably 15 years old...They have an entire music section from First Act, which I thought was just a guitar company based in Boston.

Anyone know anything about their Delay Peadal?

It was only 40 bucks, I was going to pick it up to check it out, but I opted for some conga/learning toy instead.

    Happy holidays

From what I understand, First Act runs the spectrum. They make absolute crap on par with the Estaban stuff, hell they might be the ones who actually MAKE the Esteban and they make stuff on par with anything US made stuff. I hear their custom shop is great. VW was offering a pretty nice First Act guitar with one of their cars that came with a quarter-inch jack so you could jam through your car stereo. I'd be curious to hear what you think of the pedal.

yeah, they run the gamut from really nice custom stuff to crap. I live in boston and have been in their shop there. I haven't played any of their high end guitars, so I have no idea how they sound and to be honest, I don't care for the design. Then they have stuff you find in Walmart and Toys R Us. I actually bought a 30inch guitar for my 2 year old daughter a couple years ago (for about $30). It was junk, but playable, stayed in reasonable tune etc. It was way to big for her and she banged it around so much that the neck eventually snapped off the body (which is why I bought a $30 guitar to begin with!). Shes been begging for another one, so I got a replacement for Christmas this year. Its really cute - we do "concerts" together! My wife's been brainwashing her with showtunes, but last weekend I was watching a Black Crowes video, and she was TOTALLY into it! There's still hope!

There was a show on DIY (or some network like that) a couple of years ago on First Act making a custom guitar for one of the guys in Los Lonely Boys.

I don't know much about guitars, but seemed like a pretty top notch outfit
Don't drink the Jim Jones punch. They're called theToxic Twins for a reason...

    They do run the spectrum.
But thats good. Sell alot of stuff that way.
There are a few of their guitars in this years Guitar World Holiday Reveiw Guide.
The Delia LS ($950) and the Premium Metal ($160)
    Both are completely different guitars.
The Delia is a double cutaway Brian May lookin thing while the Metal one just looks like a pointy Strat.
But yet they have a guitar at Walmart for $100 bucks.
I had to paint one for a clients daughter. Lets just say she payed alot more for the finish then the guitar.
But for a hundred dollar guitar, it wasn't bad.
    All in the setup.

I can't speak to the entire First Act line, but Comcast on-demand has product reviews from the Guitar World editor (Paul Riario?) and he made the First Act Premium Metal guitar mentioned above sound AWESOME. I don't know about the workmanship, durability, etc.

I'd go with Behringer's delay before First Act's delay.

I have a First Act VW guitar. It's not bad... plays and sounds like my old Rickenbacher. I use it quite a bit when I'm playing rhythm guitar, leading worship at church.

Their delay pedal is basically a reissue of the old Arion delay pedals from the 80's. Cheap, but it works. Decay on it has a very analog feel to it... might be an analog delay pedal rather than a digital, but digital stuff is so cheap now who knows...
