Default "Cliffs of Dover" on Electric Violin

Check it out....I like it. Get Al on drums and Ed on tuba, and you got yourself a band.

Initially, I was all set to decry this as simply being different for the sake of being different. Swell...Eruption played on a church organ, yet again. And the sloppy bowing in the beginning surely proved my disposition. Perhaps it was nerves (as to be expected), yet the execution at the beginning was rushed and at times awkward. And those yawning "gonk-like" mistakes did not help much, either.

Yet when the guy got to the solo section, he really appeared to come alive. Gone was the self-consciousness, the awareness of being filmed. The playing was inspired, and you could witness the body language of a fellow comfortable in his performance.

Not bad, by a long shot. Thanks for posting this, Christ. As an offering, I won't use your name in vain for at least a half hour. I mean come on, if you truly wanna impress folks with your works, dude...this cat would have been a 5 year old.

I thought this was very good.
Chefcraig, I think you are a grumpy old confused man....I don't think the thread starter is interested in your "approval" of what he linked to, even if he isn't 5 years old.. Damn.

Probably so, fair enough. Pretty much as I could care less about your opinion, Mr. Shit.

yeah I'm always really wary of the seemingly endless stream of "blah blah" played "any given instrument one wouldn't immediately associate with blah blah" videos but this one was pretty damn cool and I think the piece lends itself very well to the violin. The kid did start off a little rough but really caught his stride right around the 1 minute mark. He can flat out play that's for sure.

A bit off topic, but if you like violin, here's a guy I know called Seth who's doing pretty well on the folk scene these days.

I liked the kid's better. More attune to the swing of the the thing. The violin
piece seemed a little slow and none too groovy. I expected it to be more fluid.
