    Default VH Collectibles Question

    Hey.
At the risk of sounding like a plug for my items, which it isn't...

I have a sizable amount of Van Halen items I want to sell off. Anything from LP's (some still sealed), 45's, buttons, posters, magazines, backstage passes, cloth banners, and so on.

What would you think is the best "venue" to sell them? I'm in the Toronto/Hamilton area.

Because of stupid high shipping costs from Canada to the US and within Canada at times, I may be limited to a pick-up local/100km / 60 mile range.

    I don't blame you.

Just wondering how much do you think i could get for a evh pick that was played be evh at the new York City MSG show in 2008. I don't think I am going to sell it but just wondering. By the way if you see the EVH grey nylon picks that are being sold by EVH now do not have 2008 and the word van halen on them like the one's he played during the tour.

Have you considered talking to Jeff Hausman at the VH Store? Perhaps he can work out some sort of deal with you. Jeff's a decent fellow, and from my experience, has always been a fair businessman.

    You can contact him here:

    Best of luck.

I'd love to see what you have. I might be interested in some of it.

    Thanks!

Pick up option will never fly to a wide market. You'll have to include shipping costs in your auctions. eBay is probably the best way to go, maybe Craig's list. Jeff might be interested in some of your rarer stuff, but probably won't give you what you could get for the good stuff on eBay. I've bought and sold a lot of VH paraphenelia. Most of it isn't worth jack, certainly not worth the time expenditure on taking pics and posting auctions and trips to the post office and such. Authentic signed LPs in good/mint condition might get you a few bucks. Rare 45s too, and mint condition old original tour tee-shirts, maybe. Buttons, posters, magazines, banners, passes, none of that is going to get you much, perhaps maybe a package auction for all of the little incidental stuff with a low starting price and no reserve on eBay.

Also, FYI, VH items always sell better and higher during a tour, and much less so during a hiatus.

I know, but who knows when that will happen...Maybe the Jan 2009 Wolfdgnag launch will generate a buzz.

I'll get some pics / list up tonight.

As disappointed as I've been with VH, I don't think I could bring myself to part with any of my VH stuff.

    Not yet anyways.
