    Default Amp Question

I know this is the guitar corner, but what the hell.

I want to get a good, but inexpensive amp for home use. I was thinking of getting a Guitar Pod, but have played a few amps in stores that have a lot of exciting features too, and some of them sound pretty good.

Any recommendations here? Most recently I played Peavey Envoy 110 30-watt dealy that sounded pretty good.

    I don't want a gigging amp, but I don't think I want to go below 30-watts.

I was looking for the same kind of amp last year, and ended up with a Vox AD30VT. The effects on in are only so-so, but it has a tube pre-amp and a built-in attenuator, so you can get the full-cranked sound at low volumes. There's also a 50-watt version, if you want something bigger.
The Roland Cube series are excellent, too.
"Look, I'll pay you for it, what the f**k?!"

"If I don't make her happy in the bedroom the wife gets bitchy for days at a time, but when I come to bed ready for action she laughs and laughs. She even laughs while I make my moves so I know I must be pleasing her as only I can do."

++++++10 I've got the Vox AD50VT. Absolutely great. That's what i was looking for, was a nice little amp to play around the house anywhere without having to drag my stack around to my wife's chagrin. Turns out the thing sounded so damn good, I've played a couple gigs with it too. I spent around $320.00 Canadian. I tried the Line 6's, the Marshall RG's, and the Cubes, and this just had that more natural tube sound with great harmonics. I've got plenty of small amps around, but they always left me cold as they were true solid state, and just sounded flat the older they got. As said the effects at first try are so so, but once you get to finesse the parameters they are quite usable. I just don't use the auto wah (yech!) or compressor all that much. The noise reduction is very effective though a little touchy especially if you do a guitar change with different output pickups, but what NR doesn't piss you off from time to time. The AD50's and AD30'3 are also closebacked, and loaded with a 12" Celestion which I swear is sounding better with use. It sounded a little paper thin at first on some of the models, but that's normal for them until the cone suspension surround breaks in, then they get warm sounding. Telli'n ya, you can't go wrong. I don't work for Vox/Korg by the way! Just very glad there are great deals for the money out there still.
    Check it out.
