Very cool, but wouldn't that be simply an isolation versus a vocal master track?
    Nonetheless, cool find

Anybody know a good (free) Tube ripper for Mac? Google search yields a lot Windows apps, but even the ones that say Mac are misleading. Or if you've
got an MP3 rip already, that would be swell as hell.

I'm surprised no one's posted about this here so I guess I will.

For a while now, people have been decrypting the multi-track music files from Rock Band and similar games and getting decent isolated multi-track sound files of say, just vocals or drums or guitar or bass of songs licensed for the games. Some tracks have been broken down to 24 tracks and of course, are monster files ranging near 300MB while most are composed of 5 - 6 files at about 7MB total.

All are pretty interesting to at least listen to even if you don't care much for the artist. There's about 400+ songs out there that have been broken down. Here's a download list of a handful including "Hot For Teacher" to check out:

    Jane's Addiction - Mountain Song
    http://www.mediafire.com/?uaitmzjjjuy

Van Halen - Hot For Teacher
    http://www.mediafire.com/?qhlwgn1ww3x

The Cult - Love Removal Machine
    www.mediafire.com/download.php?jngqtox4nxi

    Motorhead - Overkill
    www.mediafire.com/download.php?jzmlrzbt1gn

    Queen - Bohemian Rapsody (big - 295+MB)
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PQGUA5VL

BTW, you need the WinRAR application to open these files and they'll play on most media players like Windows Media Player.

This is the one I've been using lately. It's fairly simple to download and use. I'm unsure if it is compatable with your needs, yet it's worth a shot in the dark.

Very cool to hear this! Listening to this really demonstrates how much of a key element Michael's back-ups were...no...are to the Van Halen sound.

    Now, I'm kinda pissed!

You can really Mike in there without the music, pretty cool. Wow I didn't realize they used so much delay and reverb on those vocals.

The reverb was the first thing I noticed too but I just assumed it was added by whoever posted the clip just to spice it up a bit. Never occurred to me that that's the actual vocal as is.

Nah if you listen to the real recording you can hear it's actually pretty thick, but by itself...wow really thick.

Outstanding stuff, listening to the Ed track just reminds me that he's the King of Rock, there is none higher. He's a great rhythm player as well as the inventor of the Seriously Badass Solo.
