    Default Spirit Steinberger?

Anybody tried out the Spirit Steinberger?
It’s an inexpensive guitar, and the only reason I would get one is if the tremolo was like the original Trans –Trem. If it is the same tremolo, it would be fun to mess around with it for songs like Get Up and Summer Nights.

    I have a Hohner G2T (steinberger knock-off). It is a great guitar. Doesn't have a Trans-Trem though.
Any musicians near Boston / Cape Cod want to get together and play some VH? I play drums, guitar, keyboard, bass, and I sing. I want to start a VH tribute band. Contact me if interested.

Spirit doesn't have the transtrem, don't think you can touch anything with one for less than $1k. The spirit does have a really usable trem that stays in tune. I spent 250 for the Spirit GT(something), same guitar as the Hohner mentioned above - GREAT for that money.

I rue the day I sold my G2T. Dumbest thing I ever did. But I was tired of the
club-like neck and was worried that I wouldn't be able to get double-balled
strings indefinitely. Having since been in Floyd Rose purgatory, I realize the
far superior and unique design of the Trans Trem. Every whammy should be
so lucky. Not to mention EMGs rule.

Just saw an ad by Steinberger (Gibson) in the new Guitar World and they
have a new guitar equipped with a "new" Transtrem.

I had a GM that I put together via parts w/ the transtrem. Popped high E strings like crazy. I eventually sold it. The transtrem is a pretty cool deal, but only if it is working 100%. If you get one you need the tempered set strings.
How open-minded do I have to be before my brains start spilling out?

I stupidly sold my Spirit GT Pro... dumb, dumb, dumb. I figured they'd still be selling it long enough to pick up another one. Truly a great little guitar, impossible to beat for the price. Fits in any overhead compartment on a plane, sounds great, stays in tune even if you break a string. I hope to pick up another one at first opportunity... hope musicyo.com starts actually making them again.

These are equiped with the R Trem route. Still a good trem but nothing like the Trans Trem in funcionality. They had the USA model as of the last couple years on Music Yo that had the S Trem which is the same route as the Trans Trem, and you could swap one in. It also came with EMG pickups, and a bolt on carbon neck with a maple body. Since Steinberger has gone indie again, I don't see this model any more, but I hope they bring it back. The new guitar is with the Trans Trem III, which is designed more for a conventional guitar design. The body shape of the new guitar leaves me kinda cold. Looks designed by a five year old.
She looks so $#@!'n good ,so sexy and so frail....Somethin's got the bite on me, I'm goin' straight to Hell.

I believe Hohner still makes a G2T or something that is basically the same thing with a different name...I think they go for about $400 new...
