In my humble opinion the Sam and Dave tour is Dave's career low point.

He sounded awful and looked ridiculous at the show I went too, and I have not seen or heard any boots to make me think that any of the other shows were any different.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    Preferred pronouns: he/him/his

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

I actually thought it was a high point for Dave's Solo career. It was the best solo show I've seen him do. Great fucking setlist. I saw the opening night show at Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Fucking amazing. No B.S. Just the band giving their best. Sammy did too much talking and trying to advertise his tequila. I will admit though that I thought the overall sound of Sammy's show was better, but that was it. Dave's sound, to me, sounded a bit on the muddy side.
I can't remember which comedian said it, about the current state of Van Halen, but he said right now, Van Halen is like a really hot playboy playmate with a prosthetic leg.

    BRING BACK THE CLASSIC LINEUP!

I can't even have an opinion on ANYTHING anymore unless it's exactly what everyone else thinks...oh and if I do it means I HATE this album, and hope it fails. Man some of you can fuck off...seriously. - BRETT

Guess he had all but abandoned his solo material by this point. So he was already getting a jump on the VH nostalgia tour. If I would have made one of the 2002 shows, I would have wanted to hear 6 or 7 solo songs and maybe the rest VH.

Great setlist yes, but his voice was bleeping fried.

And I have not heard a single boot from that tour in which he sounds like a professional singer.

Thought he sounded great on this last tour, but damn, that was bad.

And I will take his current gay cruise director look over the I am 55 trying real hard to be 25 look any day.

Glad you liked it, but I was embarassed for him when I saw him in 2002.

When was Dave ever a professional singer? Any fan could tell you that. I love 'em cause he's a great entertainer!

I agree and disagree. On a big scale yes the Sam and Dave tour was the lowlight of his career in the spot light. On the other hand back in 1994 he toured in support of a blues album he did, I saw him in a little club in New Britain, CT called The Sting. He maybe drew 500 people conservatively and absolutely nobody was digging his set until he would do a VH tune. I remember he had shorter hair, pleated front jeans and a button up dotted shirt. Not exactly the rock star everyone remembered.
I used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass.
