    I'm speechless!!

Not since Julian Lennon have I seen such a close resemblance to father and son in sound and appearance!

    Very Genesis-like!

I've been a Simon Collins fan for awhile, really does a good job with his own material and, like you posted, "Keep it Dark" (his version I was ironically listening to earlier today).

Just finding out about the guy today. Damn....where the hell was I?
Wonder if he'd be interested in taking Dad's place in Genesis someday?

Edit: This material is just flooring me. The first 30 seconds of "Supercell" left me slackjawed.

I find it disturbing, though. He even has Phil's beard from 1970's Genesis. Does he plan to release his own solo album "Mug Value" in 2011? Couldn't he do something to set himself apart, die his hair red, write rebellious lyrics, play the tuba? It's a bit sad coz u know he will never top what his dad has achieved, will be living in his shadow no matter what he does.

Wasn't a fan of Wolfie in VH, and also skeptical of a son milking his dad's legacy. Also not a fan of a certain president, son of another...

I like his voice and lyrics, he reminds me a lot of his Dad. He even looks like him. The songs are good too, he is from Vancouver, Canada. I read a book on Phil, he lived there for a while. I guess Simon grew up there with his Mom.

I heard his single on the radio (adult contemporary station) the other day while working on the house, and was like, DAMN, this sounds like Phil Collins, but NOT completely...

Then they said who it was and was like damn...

Not exactly the same, but definitely has Phil's edge to it.

The voice didn't remind me of Phil at all, but he definitely tore a few pages out of the Genesis songbook! Drumming style (if that's him playing the drums - or whoever it is) is definitely in Phil's vein (or recorded to sound like him at the least), and maybe he has one of Tony Bank's kids to play the keyboards! Nice take on "Keep It Dark". I'd like to hear more.

I've picked up or ordered Simon's last two CD's, "Time For Truth" and "U-Catastrophe". Both albums are incredible, and very different in style. T4T has a lighter, more synth feel to it while U-C is definitely harder and very guitar driven in parts.

Give a listen to these tracks (2 from each cd). Some of the best music I've heard in a long time.

I bought U-Catastrophe last week thanks to this thread. I found it in one store, only one copy left! It's a good album, not enough guitar though. But it has a bunch of songs I like, Unconditional and Powerless are the best songs on it imo.
