    Default Mr. Mister

Thought you guys might enjoy this as there's a guitar geek and VH connection as Buzz Feiten and Trevor Rabin both contributed to this project.

I've been a fan of The Misters since their heyday back in the 80's and especially love their last official album entitled, "Go On...".

    http://www.amazon.com/Go-Mr-Mister/d...1503121&sr=1-3

I always thought that these guys were CONSUMATE musicians and songwriters that never really got their due for the same reasons most people dismiss Extreme for "More Than Words". There's SO much more to them than the casual listener might pick up on. I believe Steve Farris (guitar) is one of the most original players to ever pick up the instrument, Richard Page has one of the most golden voices and is one of the best bass players I've ever heard, and Pat Mastelotto is a drummer on par with the best in the world (of interesting note, he's been with King Crimson since 1994 and lives in Austin).

I've always hoped in vain that they'd do another record as great as "go On..." and, over the past few years, read rumors of their 4th and still unreleased album "Pull", recorded in 1988-89, but never could find it. Well, lo and behold, it finally surfaced and, man, what a KEWL disc (look carefully at the page and you can figure out how to listen ):

    http://had70.blogspot.com/2008/06/mr...4th-album.html

...and the cover artwork I was inspired to create for it:

    http://www.mediafire.com/file/l3xpbizyg6g/Mr Mister - Pull Cover FINAL.zip

I highly recommend you guys take a listen - it's well worth it but leave your preconceived notions of the band at the door...

    Enjoy.

I have always dug "Broken Wings" and "Kyrie". They're just great pop songs that aren't dumb like...oh, say..."My Humps", anything Britney's ever done, etc.

One day in 90 or 91, while driving along the highway near sunset, a friend of mine ejects my Stone Roses tape and pops in some friggin' tape. I was pissed, but the song that played was "Dust" from Go On. What a great song.

This is the ONLY Mr. Mister album I've ever owned. I didn't know Trevor Rabin was on it until after I bought the CD.

"Bare My Soul"..."Healing Waters"...some great pieces of music. Kinda wonder how this album got lost in the shuffle, don't ya?

Great album, my man. Glad you brought this up.

Actually, the one that has Rabin on it is "Pull" (links above). Pull is AWESOME. Get it while it's hot. If you need tips on how to get it, shoot me a PM...

...and, yes, can't believe Go On got lost in the shuffle...

I was pretty much heading down a hard rock path when the group really broke, but that didn't stop me from appreciating the music they created. I think what really struck me was how well the vocals were mized and blended on their second album.

"Pull" rocks pretty damn heavy in quite a few spots - you'd be surprised...

Thanks for posting this. I have been wanting this for quite some time. I always liked Mr. Mister. Excellent musicians. Richard Page is one of my favorite singers....I really like his voice. If you like Mr. Mister you should check out the cd "Meanwhile" by 3rd matinee. This was a group that Richard Page was in after Mr. Mister.

You can find it on the same site the "Pull" is on.

Dude, I have abso-flippin'-lutely no idea why I said that. I was being pulled in six different ways. I'm sorry. Please ignore.

Lots of good music does, and that frustrates the piss out of me. The music industry sucks. It's an industry, and industry makes pollution. A small album like Go On just gets covered in all the filth of the machine and dies an unfair death.

I remember hearing the lead track "I Don't Care" when it was released to radio back in '94. I thought I was hearing a new Toy Matinee song. Had no clue it was Page singing that track.
