Default A positive sign of things to come?

I do my shopping at Wal-Mart every week for groceries and I usually check the CD section while strolling through just to see if there is anything I don't already own. Well, a few months ago, you would see maybe 10 AC/DC discs, if that, then even before the announcement of the exclusive deal, the quantity of dics doubled, and now there are 4 of their 'racks' full of AC/DC past issues.

Now, today, I looked at the VH section...usually about 5 or 6 discs (and usually half of those are 1984 ) tops, and now they have 2 of the 'racks' full of of VH material. Yep, every single studio album was there and even on of Best of Vol1. Not sure if this means anything, but I sure did find it a bit odd for a band that has become a bit obscure to the masses.

I don't know what a positive "aign" is, but a positive sign might possibly be Azoff working the Wal-Mart angle on the rumored live DVD and/or CD.

Yeah, I scanned my entire post, yet didn't scan the title.

Any mods want to help me out with the title please?

there was a thread like this a few years ago

    i remember it
"you can't change JMJ, it's legendary"- Brett Norton 9/24/07

"It's the "JMJ" everyone had grown to love, man! Time to blow the roof off this place!"
    -Zachenfoot 2/23/10

"The links just look a little better with JMJ. Always has, always will." -Hurricane Halen 2/24/10

"I'm doin' the victory dance. Told ya I'd be back. Tell me ya missed me. Say it like ya mean it" - Blood and Fire. =VH= 2012. Welcome back boys :headband:

"I don't give a flying fuck about Motley Crue. I give about a half a fuck about Rush. I like Van Halen and don't give a flying fuck how many tickets they all sell. Any questions?"- jimmyw

I know VS, but I found it strange that this Wally World, which the were times where you could ever find anything but 1984, had that many discs of VH now.

While I am not likely as pessimistic as you, I'm not that far off from it. Just noting what I saw, which I thought was interesting.

I highly doubt it is a sign of anything, other than maybe they gained a few fans with the recent tour and their CD's are probably selling a little bit better.

Well my local Wal Mart is really pimping all of the AC/DC stuff. I didn't notice any VH stuff though.

It probably is a stretch but I noticed the same thing at a WM in Kentucky.I saw lots of Journey restocked as well which would make sense to AT's point as they're represented by Azoff as well. And even though I hate being in Walmart more than I hate being in a dentist chair, I found the pre-advertising for the upcoming AC/DC release encouraging though this exclusive release deal they have is yet another indication of how pathetic the music industry is in 2008.

And remember the politics of negotiation: As part of the AC/DC deal Azoff may have insisted on a larger stock of other artists he represents.
