    Satriani talks Sammy

I sure am excited about this Chickenfoot thing:

At the end of the article, there is an audio clip of Satriani discussing Sammy. Give it a listen. It's pretty interesting.

Oh, and I wonder what that Sly and the Family Stone song was recorded for. Is that going to be on his new solo album, or is that on some sort of tribute album I'm unaware of?

Joe's so well adjusted and calm. Mike and Sam are gonna be shocked playing with a guitar hero not involved in any kind of drama!

Involved in drama or thriving on creating drama?

Should be a fairly smooth adjustment attitude wise, like playing with Vic with more skill (no offense to Vic). I wonder how the Wabos like this kind of thing though, Sammy shelved them for the VH 2004 tour and he is basically shelving them somewhat for this; isn't that why Jesse Harms left? Anyways, they must be used to it by now.

I wouldn't worry about the wabos at all....I'm sure they are well taken care of financially, and there must be hundreds or even thousand of muscians who'd die to be in their place.

I love Sammy and I have been looking forward to this project for a while. But hearing someone else in the band talking about it and getting excited makes me THAT much more excited about this!

From what I've seen on here is that the Wabo's are more or less salaried employees of one of Sammy's interest. I think Sam said during the '06 tour that he more or less performed for free. Cabo Wabo promoted the tour so he made his money via the tequilla bid'nes. It has been said that Harms was pissed because he felt Sam had more or less said that he wouldn't return to VH. Sounds to me like that was just one of those bad arguments between long time friends that shouldn't of happened but did.

Since hearing about CF I have said I thought Sam's mini-tour this year along with the stadium shows with Kenny Chesney were a way to get the Wabo's some coin so he could spend the next year with this new project. Not to mention those guys probably would love a break to spend some time with the families. Sammy has been working them hard for 10 years now.

I'm sure the band will be ready to go in the spring of 2010 to hit the road with Sam again. Damn, a year off in the music business. What the hell are they thinking?

I believe Sammy said, when the VH rumors started in late 2003/early 2004, that the Wabos are still on the payroll. I took that as they are salaried employees - he paid them in 2004. I imagine it's the same way now.

I love joe, he is a incredible guitarist and having the chance to be in a full scale band. We get to see a whole new band ! This is like a knock out punch ! I would buy this album without even hearing it first ! The one thing I have always noticed about is he has a way of bringing out the best in himself and others. That is bigger than the music in a way.
